This trail can be done exclusively uphill or downhill. The route is accessible from the start or finish of the Signal lift in the Alpe d'Huez resort. Between forest and summit, the path offers a beautiful blend of nature and panoramas, with a splendid view of Villard-Reculas from the Signal de Villard.
If you opt for an uphill walk, the route begins with a section that runs along the heights of the resort. You then take a superb mountainside path that plunges into the forest. Along the way, the trees part from time to time to reveal a beautiful view of the villages of Huez and Alpe d'Huez.
You will reach an intersection. At this point, enjoy the view of the Grandes Rousses mountains rising up in front of you. The trail continues with an uphill section towards the Signal de Villard. Gradually, the forest gives way to a more open landscape. Then, the Signal antennas stand out. Once you reach them, you continue climbing to the summit of the Grande Sûre, which peaks at 2,114 meters. This is where the Signal telemix station arrives.
