A short bike tour between Nexö (the largest town on Bornholm's east coast and the hub of island life there), Pedersker (located between Aakirkeby and Sømarken) and Öster Sømarken (offers a small harbour, a smokehouse and Bornholm's only starred restaurant)
Motto: Relax once.🏖️ We park at the oldest church on the island. Free - there is no sign but rings to tie the horses. Interesting (for us) especially the votive ship on the ceiling. Next we visit every beach in southern Bornholm, lie in the sun and swim a bit. However, the water is quite cold due to the swell yesterday. Nothing helps: In! There is surprisingly little activity at our favorite Sømarken. There is even a restaurant with Michelin⭐️. It was too early for us to try. Shaaade! We didn't look at the prices.
Luckily, we only got to know the bombastic beetle as a sand sculpture: a liquid at 100 degrees can be hurled at its attacker up to 300 times per second - it only exists in the south of Bornholm... Otherwise, this tour was very peaceful: the hilly, wide landscape with large, golden-yellow grain fields, the occasional beautiful farm or cemetery with a church, great bike paths and hardly any traffic; all of this exudes a wonderful sense of calm. The sand sculpture exhibition in Nexö is dedicated to endangered species and is very impressive!
Again a very nice tour on Bornholm. For 2:40 driving time we were on the road for almost 6 hours. There's just too much to look at 🤗
