A nice short tour for the day after when you need to "recover" a bit. Plenty of rest stops and information boards. The town of Rommersheim is worth seeing.
Hiwweltour Neuborn - one of the certified circular hiking trails in Rheinhessen: varied, with many great views and well signposted. The large parking lot at the sports field in Neuborn near Wörrstadt is recommended as a starting point.
A 1.5-hour drive, and everything suddenly looks different. Beautiful, sweeping views over the vineyards. The weather was finally perfect again. A lovely circular walk through the vineyards.
After I had the Hiwweltour Zornheimer Berg behind me, I added the Hiwweltour Neuborn in Wörrstadt (10...15 minutes by car from Zornheim). This tour also has almost everything a hiker's heart desires. The only thing missing was a nice place to stop.... 😂😆
Today, Simone came by to park her bike in our garage for the winter. She spontaneously sent me an invitation to a short hike. Alla, there wasn't much left, so I said yes😃 . We took some fig mustard and cheese out of the fridge, quickly drove to the recycling center, bought some bread from the bakery, and off we went😅 Neither of us had ever seen the tour before, and we were both thrilled.🤩 The tour mostly leads through vineyards, but also includes short stretches through the forest. There are plenty of benches and wide panoramic views. Highly recommended in nice weather and in autumn 🙏🏼 Thanks @Simone, that was a super nice, spontaneous idea🥰
This morning, ground fog rolled through the valley. It was a good thing we walked clockwise. This meant we started out on the panoramic trail above the fog, still in the sun, and then walked mystically through wisps of fog and diffused sunlight. It was interesting to see how the Burgundy Tower gradually disappeared into the mist. Had we chosen that direction, we too would have been swallowed up by the fog, and the view would have been lost. So, it was the right decision. From Rommersheim onwards, the fog lifted, the sun broke through, and we had wonderful views in all directions for the rest of the hike.

It's not too long and can easily be done as a "breakfast." Exercise in the fresh air—even if it's just a little—is always so good. And this short loop through the Rheinhessen vineyards is extremely motivating. Panoramic views, beautiful vineyards, sandy paths that are unfamiliar to me, and the attractive wine-growing town of Rommersheim are top-notch highlights. The hiking trail leads through the vineyards in a variety of ways (be careful! There's a real danger of getting lost!). Bushy landscapes alternate with vineyard sections. And it's always a little uphill and then downhill again. A truly hilly, bumpy tour... I never see what view awaits me behind the next hill. But they're always fantastic❣ A landscape marker that accompanies me throughout the entire tour is the Burgundy Tower – dark red and modern, its architecture is reminiscent of the cute trulli houses I became acquainted with last year. My only criticism is the route around the swimming pool; I bypassed this spot via the Quellen- und Klauerpfad (spring and clown trail). A small highlight along the trail is just before Rommersheim – a pond full of frogs, which, as you can see in the photos, are enjoying the summer weather on the water lily leaves. Conclusion: All in all, a wonderful in-between tour. For relaxing and enjoying. The diverse trail sections evoke pure joy of movement. It never gets boring. Sand paths, gravel-clay paths, grass paths, field paths and some asphalt.
Very nice entertaining and also short Hiwweltour (8km), through the beautiful Rhoihesse🥰! You start at the sports field or 200m further on at the hiking car park. This tour can certainly also be done in winter in sunny weather, as most of the time it is open with a great view.
