@RaGa ......unfortunately the place at the Weinomat was besieged🥲
Went on the second of a total of nine Hiwwel tours today. Quite undemanding tour without major climbs. Still nice to go.
Today we went to Tiefenthal with my wife and a friend. The Hiwweltour wanted to be hiked again. The weather was a bit changeable. But rain doesn't bother me. Here and there there were still remnants of snow and there was enough mud. A nice round that brings the weekend to a successful close. And here is the official description. It starts at the village square in Tiefenthal. The northern access route leads past the cemetery to the Hiwweltour at the edge of the forest. From there the view sweeps to the Appelbach. Soon we make direct contact with the creek, because it goes right into the wet biotope Appelbach. The path continues through the valley and passes a small pond. After this relaxed start, the cool mixed forest beckons. After 2 km the forest backdrop opens up and with a magnificent view over the Rheinhessische Schweiz we reach the Steinkaute refuge. A "green tunnel" of dense hedges and trees then leads to the Dunzelloch, a quarry where valuable building material was mined for a long time. The following ascent is mastered quickly and when you leave the forest, you are captivated by a great panoramic view to the Palatinate with the Donnersberg to the south. This makes it easy to understand the historical border between Rheinhessen and the Bavarian Electoral Palatinate, which is documented by ancient boundary stones. Also in sight is Mörsfeld with the Daimbacherhof, where today only a bell in the church and a gate beam bear witness to the former monastery. If you want to pay a visit to the place, use the access road that turns off at the forester's lodge. After a scenic passage through the edge of the forest, we reach the Appelbachtal on the flank of the Homberg, where a table of wine invites you to linger and enjoy the view. We roam through meadows and enjoy nature and the panorama. In the middle of this idyll, a path gives you the opportunity to visit Niederhausen a. i.e. apple. Another idyllic passage soon follows across the open expanse. After the descent s, the Hiwweltour finally leads through a wildly romantic gorge before we hike back from the cemetery on the northern access road to the village square.
The weather could have been better today. Then the tour would have been even nicer.🤨
Today we're taking it a bit easier. We'll take you along the Hiwweltour Tiefenthaler Höhe in the Rhenish Hesse Switzerland. If you're looking for wide views, rolling vineyards, and pure relaxation, this is the place for you. Even though it's less "wild" this time than in the gorge, the tour has its very own charm. We enjoy the peace, the great panoramic views, and of course, the time spent in the fresh air with the whole family. Perfect for a relaxing day of hiking! But beware! It still gets steep 😉 ⬇️ Click here for the video, have fun hiking along. https://youtu.be/GKZHgx87se4?si=-bQ0sTgvv-8ZslxE
This is a very beautiful tour that includes everything that makes hiking enjoyable: deciduous forest, flowering meadows, the Appelbach wetland biotope, an old quarry, a fire station where you can buy wine and endless beautiful views of the landscape.
This was our 3rd tour on our weekend in Rheinhessen. It was great 🍷😎
