This wonderful hike begins at the idyllic Hintersee lake. You hike through diverse forest and mountain landscapes up to the Schärenalm mountain hut. Here, you can take your first break, as the mountain hut invites you to rest with regional delicacies and offers your first views of the surrounding peaks of the Berchtesgaden Alps.

Then, the well-maintained path continues uphill until you finally reach the Blaueishütte, located at 1,680 meters. Once there, an impressive panorama opens up: The view sweeps down into the valley and up to the striking Blaueis Glacier in the Hochkalter massif. A wonderful place to enjoy alpine beauty and tranquil mountain moments.

After refreshing yourself with some particularly delicious homemade cake, for which the Blaueishütte is famous, you return the same way. Once again, the views are breathtaking – only this time in the other direction.
