This tour starts in BTC City – one of Europe's largest shopping, sports, and business districts, located in the heart of Ljubljana with over 500 shops, restaurants, and leisure activities – but you'll hop on your bike and escape the hustle and bustle by heading east.
The route initially takes you along the popular secondary route through Zalog towards Besnica. Then the climb begins, and things get challenging: Switchbacks and small roads lead you up to Janče – the highest point in the municipality of Ljubljana. At the summit, the village of the same name and the Žagarski Vrh mountain hut with its viewpoint await you.
The return journey follows quiet country roads, with flowing descents and beautiful views of the hilly landscape surrounding the capital. This tour will challenge you physically and demonstrate how quickly you can get out of Slovenia's capital and into the countryside.
