Hiking

On this tour, you'll circle Lake Fuschl step by step. You'll walk counterclockwise along its picturesque shores, with the turquoise waters by your side. This loop is ideal for anyone seeking a relaxing break from everyday life.

You start in Fuschl Brunn. Right from the start, you'll have a view of the Fuschl lido and the popular promenade, which is bustling not only in the summer months. Soon, you'll leave the small village on beautifully landscaped paths along the northern shore, where rows of trees line the path and small entrances to the lake invite you to pause for a moment and dip your feet in the water.

Then the path dips into the hinterland for a while and leads around the Fuschlsee nature reserve. Ducks and coots frolic among the reeds, downy birch trees, and rare marsh gladiolas. Next, Fuschl Castle comes into view, a late medieval building on a headland – famous from the old Sissi films with Romy Schneider. If you're feeling inclined, treat yourself to a piece of cake at the Sisi tearoom or pick up a fresh whitefish roll from the castle fishery.

On the southern shore, the intense blue hues accompany you again; on windless days, every hill is reflected in it. Finally, the tour comes full circle at Fuschl Brunn. The local restaurants are waiting to welcome you to the end of your tour.

Fuschl Castle is picturesquely situated on the western shore of Lake Fuschl in the Salzkammergut region and was built around 1450 as a hunting lodge for the Prince-Archbishops of Salzburg. The historic building has subsequently served various purposes, including as a backdrop for film productions, including the Sissi films. Today, the castle houses a luxurious hotel with its own spa and golf course.

Comfortable tour around the Fuschlsee in the Salzkammergut with a visit to Fuschl Castle. At its north-west end is the Fuschlseemoor (nature reserve). The volcano-like buildings next to the main road in Fuschl am See are the Red Bull headquarters.

Nice lap, normally 12 kilometers but I activated the watch too late 🙈

⛰️🛶🏊‍♀️ Stunning views of the lake and the surrounding mountains alternate with glimpses of various forests, meadows, and pastures. The Fuschlsee Circular Trail is a trail that mostly runs close to the lakeshore. Only on the western shore, near Fuschl Castle, and in the area of the outflow of the Fuschler Ache stream, does the trail veer slightly away from the lakeshore, but it leads through a scenically attractive nature reserve.🐸🦋🌼 Along the trail, there are several restaurants and cafés where you can stop for a bite to eat 🧁🍧🍺 and there are plenty of opportunities to take a break and enjoy the view. In summer, be sure to bring your swimsuit. 🏊‍♀️🏖🌞 There are four different natural bathing beaches: Fuschlseebad, Wesenauer Badeplatz, and Stöllinger Badeplatz in Fuschl am See, as well as the natural bathing beach in Hof near Salzburg. In between, there are numerous wild bathing spots along the circular hike.

A nice afternoon round on the varied circular route around the Fuschlsee. In Fuschl am See there was a delicious ice cream and at the end of the castle fishery a smoked fish.

We start our hike around Lake Fuschl at the large parking lot at the lido in Fuschl am See. From here, we head towards Wolfgangseestraße, past the Red Bull headquarters, and follow the road for a short distance before heading towards the lake. On this side of the lake, you can enjoy a relaxed hike without being disturbed by cyclists. There are always great views over the lake, and the forest is cooling even on hot days. At the Schloss Fuschl fishery, we naturally stop for a break and try freshly smoked fish. At this end of the lake, we stroll through the castle grounds. We continue across meadows and over the Fuschler Ache stream, where various fish can be found. Eventually, we reach the other shore of the lake. Unfortunately, the view of the lake is not always clear from here. Once back in Fuschl am See, we look at some beautiful buildings and end our tour in the beer garden.

Pleasantly shady in the forest, few places to get to the lake, but beautiful 🤩 this BLUE.

Finally, today we went around Lake Fuschl. The weather was dull and rainy, so the mood was a bit mystical and melancholic. I liked the fact that the path runs almost the entire way along the lake and is hardly populated. 🤗

Today is the first day of vacation in the Salzkammergut with an apartment at Mondsee. In imperial spring weather and 22 degrees, go counterclockwise around the picturesque Fuschlsee. The turquoise water almost looked Caribbean! The luxury hotel Schloss Fuschl is currently being extensively modernized and expanded, formerly the setting for Sissi films. In the Schloss Fuschl fishery there is a great offer of smoked fish 🐟, very tasty 😋 The foehn wind picked up to gale force on the way back. Then continue to Bad Ischl to the Cafe Zauner and the Kaiservilla. A perfect first day here 👍
