This superb loop begins at the chairlift valley station at the foot of the Schneeberg in Losenheim. The trail leads past the ruins of Losenheim Castle and before long you’ll reach the wildly romantic Sebastian waterfall – a gloriously refreshing place especially in summer.
The trail continues along the Fadengraben stream through peaceful forests up to the Mamauwiese, offering magnificent views of the Schneeberg. The return route follows the red trail back to Losenheim and the chairlift station.
The Schneeberg valley station is easy to access by public transport or car. Before the ascent, there are refreshment options at the Hotel Restaurant Forellenhof, the Lahning Inn, or the Pizzeria Alpentaverne.

This route was planned by komoot.
My circular hiking trail started today in Losenheim and led past the Maumauwiese to the Sebastianfall and back again. Today I finally found the geocache at the waterfall. I've looked there several times but never found it.
Mamauwiese-Sebastianfall partially difficult to walk (very steep and rocky)
Sunshine is the order of the day this weekend, so I was drawn to the mountains today. I wanted to make the ascent easier for myself, so I took the Schneeberg chairlift and just got down. It was a fantastically beautiful day. There were tons of butterflies and rams to see and watch. Something was always fluttering around me. On this patch of earth the world still seems to be in order. I spent most of the time in the forest, so the heat was bearable. I only had to walk the last stretch in the blazing sun. The chairlift and the parking lot are free with the NÖ-Card. The Losenheim castle ruins can only be visited in a group of at least 6 people and by prior arrangement. www.burgruine-losenheim.at
Wonderful tour in the old homeland. Nice to be home again. We went up with the chairlift. And then went down, so please do not take into account the altitude information is about 200 meters. Sure-footed and good shoes are a must. Unfortunately, only the Almreselhütte was open with us. But it was delicious to eat there.
Actually, the Schneebergbahn was planned and booked. But: switch failure! All trips to the Schneeberg were cancelled for about a week. In addition to the refund, there was also a free ride on the Schneeberg chairlift. So, off we went. At the top, first, over a beer, I familiarised myself on Komoot with what I could do and which hiking trails were available. Over the Fadensteig to the Fischerhütte? I can remember the last time I had sore muscles and am currently less fit than I was then, so it was cancelled. And voila - I found this route and thought it was great! The day was saved. Great waterfall!
