From 265 to 1,149 m in seven minutes to Bozen's local mountain, the Kohlern, and climbed the observation tower with around 300 steps and enjoyed the incredible foresight, despite the hazy weather. Then we went over hill and dale quite demanding up to the Titschen, where there are still some flak stations from the 2nd World War. On the route you always have spectacular views right at the edge of the break. Over hill and dale it was quite steep again to the cable car and even steeper with the train back into the valley.
Leisurely hike with a few stops because of the many delicious raspberries. As always, breathtaking view of the Titschenwarte, ideal place to linger and enjoy a snack (you have to bring your own because there is no inn far and wide 🙂)
There's actually wine waiting for hikers at the top of the Titschenwarte. What a great idea.
At the Titschenwarte there are not only 2 tables, 2 benches and an amazing view, but also full wine bottles and wine glasses as well as a trust fund. The wine was very tasty, we were happy to top up the fund. Tip: You should bring a pocket knife with a corkscrew 🍷
I was on the Titschen (1,616m), Bolzano's highest point. Unfortunately in the middle of the forest and therefore totally unspectacular.
