The trail officially begins at the mountain station of the Ladurns cable car. You can typically find parking at the base station of the cable car in Ladurns, and then take the cable car up to the starting point.
The entire Ladurnser Rundweg Alpine Loop is approximately 3.86 kilometers (2.4 miles) long and generally takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to complete. The section from the mountain station to the Edelweiss Hut can be done in about 45 minutes with a light ascent.
Yes, the Ladurnser Rundweg is considered a comfortable and rewarding hike, often described as having a "medium" difficulty with mostly gentle ascents and descents. It is suitable for families and can be a good option for beginner hikers looking for an alpine experience.
The path leads through forests and lush alpine meadows. You'll encounter mostly gentle ascents and descents, making for a pleasant hiking experience. There are also natural biotopes with small lakes along the way.
Hikers are treated to magnificent panoramic views, especially from the Wastenegg (2,023m), where you can admire the impressive 3000-meter peaks of the Pflersch Valley, including the Aglsspitze and the majestic Tribulaun. You'll also pass by natural biotopes with small lakes, a water reservoir like the Rosskopf Reservoir, and a little fishpond near the Edelweiss Hut. Don't miss the View of the Stubai and Tux Alps and the View of Wetterspitze.
Yes, a key highlight of the trail is the Edelweiss Hut, which serves as a welcoming stop for refreshments and a chance to rest. You'll also find a Cattle Trough and Water Fountain on the Almenweg for a quick break.
The Ladurnser Rundweg is best enjoyed during the warmer months when the alpine meadows are lush and the weather is favorable for hiking. This typically means late spring, summer, and early autumn.
While the trail itself is generally suitable for dogs, it's always best to check local regulations regarding dogs on cable cars and in huts. Always keep your dog on a leash and ensure you clean up after them.
Generally, there are no specific permits or entrance fees required for hiking the Ladurnser Rundweg itself. However, you will need to purchase a ticket for the Ladurns cable car to reach the starting point of the loop.
Yes, the Ladurnser Rundweg is part of a network of trails. The route itself is officially known as "Ladurnser Rundweg" and also passes through sections of the "Dolomieu-6-Almen-Weg" and "Edelweisshütte Ladurns - Rifigio Edelweiss Ladurns" trails. From the Edelweiss Hut, you have various descent options, including a forest road (Markierung Nr. 34) or path Nr. 27A towards Hotel Feuerstein.
Yes, while the main loop from the mountain station to the Edelweiss Hut is along trail 34A, the hut can also be reached via a freight path, which is trail no. 34. This might offer a different experience or a more direct route depending on your preference.
nice trip. Comfortable with the gondola up and down, enjoy wonderful views during the circular route
Today we first drove by car 🚙 to Ladurns to the cable car 🚠 in the valley 😝 there is also the option of taking a bus 🚌, which does not run often. But with the right guest card it is included 🔝🇮🇹🙂. From there we took the cable car 🚡 up to the mountain ⛰️ station 😎🫶. This is where the recording of the circular route ☺️ begins. First we went up through forest and then came the alpine path 😍🫶. We heard the cowbells ringing and in some places waterfalls and streams flowing. The birdsong, the mountains, flora and fauna in general were simply a dream. After a bit of a walk uphill we came to a lake that is responsible for the water supply in the area. There I was able to take my reflections 🙃😍🫶🥰. We walked around the lake, which is also fenced in. There are also some newts there, which we watched for a while. Really cute and beautiful. 🥰 if you watch 😄👍. There is also a wonderful place to take a break by the lake; there are places to sit 😎. We then went to the Edelweiss Hut 🛖. It is 1982 m high. Today was the day for shepherd's noodles 😋😄🫶 @Sandra 🥾🥾🎒 and @Joachim we made it 🙃😋. Proof is in the photos 😜. It's a good thing we shared the huge portion 🙂. My husband then wanted to take the farm track back to the mountain station and I continued on the Ladurns circular route. I can recommend it to anyone who is in the area, really 🔝. These views are simply indescribably beautiful 🤩. The highest point for me was the Wastenegg at 2027 m. I recommend high hiking boots 🥾 and also hiking poles. We were able to get the tickets for the cable car for 50% cheaper at our Hotel Gudrun in Gossensass 😍👍.
The time is wrong, so neither is the average speed. The path was partly so steep that Komoot thought we were standing 😃
