Splendid sunny day, starting from Colle a comfortable mule track takes us to the top of the Spalavera where you can admire numerous trenches of the Cadorna line still well preserved as well as a magnificent 360 ° panorama, crossing a beautiful beech forest you can reach the top of the Alpe where there are other trenches and a small barracks, from there we go back for about ten minutes and take a firebreak that takes us back to the starting point.
From the Il Colle locality (1,232m) through a beech forest halfway up the slope you reach the military barracks (fortification from the First World War) in the Cima l'Alpe locality (1,348m). From here, following a short, very little visible path, you descend, cutting across the trench and reaching a wide military track that takes you back to a large space we have already passed through (Pian d'Alpe). From here you take the steep climb up the northern side of Monte Spalavera (1,534m, follow the white-red signs of the CAI) from the top of which you can enjoy a splendid 360° panorama (Lake Maggiore, Monte Limidario and Monte Zeda clearly visible) . After a well-deserved stop, the return to Il Colle is easy and well-traced following the military track along the southern slope of Monte Spalavera
