This compact after-work loop leads through one of the quietest corners of the High Black Forest. It's perfect if you want to burn off some energy after a long day. A climb with two steep sections, a descent, great views, and a few culinary options await you. The recipe for a short gravel tour around Geschwend and Herrenschwand is complete.
You start in the historic town center of Geschwend, with its over 400-year-old Black Forest houses, and roll along the wildly babbling Prägbach stream through the Präg glacial cirque. Then the long, steady climb to Herrenschwand begins. Once at the top, you'll have views as far as the Feldberg and can refresh yourself at the Hotel Waldfrieden (an overnight stay is also possible).
You continue along the old Fuchswaldstraße road to the Tiergrüblehütte – the highest point of the tour. From here, it's a rapid descent, via the Staldenhütte back to Geschwend. All according to the motto: short tour, big impact – that's how to stay fit after work.
