Here you can find my collection of Spessart traces: https://www.komoot.de/collection/2408790/-spessarturen?ref=undefined Today we went to the balcony with Ms. Wanderin, more precisely the Gelnhausen forest balcony. Two things we noticed: 1. The tour is almost 1 km longer than stated in the description. 2. The classification as "easy" does not fully do justice to reality, especially towards the end of the round before, during and after the panoramic path. Anyone who has problems with steep climbs and steps may be annoyed by “easy”. All in all, of course, a nice tour through the forest. The forest cover here is varied. At one point on the path the chestnuts literally fell on our heads in their prickly coat.
Unfortunately, no view over Gelnhausen is possible due to the fog. Nevertheless, it is a very beautiful path. https://www.spessart-tourismus.de/detail/id=626bfecbf0041397d91a1be3
What does a woman do when the doctor says she can't go 5 kilometers anymore? That's right - then it runs more than 5 😇 It doesn't work, doesn't exist! And I will definitely not let the cancer disease get me down 💪 Giving up is not an option!!! Motivational task for this spring: All 🪻Spessart traces and tracks 🪻 hike again 🥾 It all started with the Waldbalkon round in Gelnhausen. Wonderful to walk - except for the last steep piece 🙈🥵
Today we went to Gelnhausen for the forest balcony round. A nice tour with a great view over Gelnhausen to Frankfurt. At the end there was a stop in the log cabin.
Today a little hike in the Gelnhäuser Stadtwald in the best weather. I started at the Blockhaus car park and followed the signs for the Spessartspur. The trail runs mostly on forest roads, very pleasant to walk. A highlight was the narrow Pfaffenweg with beautiful views over Gelnhausen. The log cabin is currently closed, unfortunately no refreshments are possible.
The starting point of the tour is the parking lot at the Blockhaus, a popular spot for forest activities among the residents of Gelnhausen. The trail leads uphill over the Mühlbachskuppe and the Habernickel. It then descends in loops past the Heinrichshöhe and continues along the steep edge of the forest, which overlooks Gelnhausen like a balcony. On the return journey, the trail passes old vineyard walls and former sandstone quarries, offering magnificent views of the Kinzig Valley. spessart-tourismus.de/detail/id=626bfecbf0041397d91a1be3
I'm not a big fan of the "Spessart traces". But this round here is really recommended! Thanks to Seitan Dude for the tip!
