September 6, 2025,🇮🇪- Dingle Way 6: Feohanagh - Cloghane
A highlight for me in terms of scenery and terrain. Starting with a view of Mount Brandon, I immediately ran into a badger. Shortly before the highest point of the trail, today there were a few more meters of elevation gain, the heavy rain began, with alternating wind directions. I was very grateful for my poles, as otherwise I would …

Today we crossed Mount Brandon in the best weather.
The climb was easier than we thought, and we went down on stones that were stacked like a staircase. That went very well because everything was dry. If it had been wet, it would have been slippery.

The tour was very beautiful, but also exhausting with all the luggage☺️

Way: Over the mountains, typical footpaths on the east side with steps, quite good for the descent, then again wide and asphalted or gravel paths or beautiful footpaths over the pastures, short section on the beach, where the route deviates from the DW. Oh yes, again not a single bank and the section between KM13-15 is redundant. All the time …

Another great stage. Great weather, spectacular views and even a few meters of altitude. And of course camping behind the pub again. The highlight of the day, however, was the landlord of Murphys Pub in Brandon, who opened his pub, which was actually still closed, especially for me and saved my life with a cyclist 😉 I love the Irish...❤️🇨🇮

A beautiful hike, although of course strenuous in its incline. Fantastic weather, fantastic views - often just sheep and I 🙃 The tour around is also very easy to hike.

Very nice tour and just in time and dry over the pass at Brendon. And in the end, despite the direct path to Cloghane, got nicely wet again.

Today a tough but beautiful hike was on the program, which starts with a challenging climb in the Brandon Massif, and along the way I asked myself a few times... what am I doing to myself, but that reward, yes, the one waiting for you up there. And what a reward, I would gladly climb that mountain three more times, …

With about 3,000 meters of altitude gain over 180 kilometers, the Dingle Way is a rather flat long-distance hiking trail. Today's stage, which leads over the foothills of Mount Brandon, is the big exception. The summit is hidden this morning in a rather stubbornly persistent cloud cap, but the surroundings look quite promising.
