🅿️ Ettal Cemetery (day ticket €3) - Hiking trail 264 - Ochsensitz ✝️(1515m) - Ziegelspitz ⛰️ (1719m) - Notkarspitze ⛰️ (1888m) 🍺 - Hiking trail 262 ☝️T3 - Ettaler Mühle - Cafe Edelweiß 🍖🍺
This tour went from Ettal via Ochsensitz and Ziegelspitze to the Notkarspitze. A scenic tour in the Ammergau Alps Nature Park. The direct descent from the Notkarspitze is sometimes steep and secured with wire ropes in some places! https://bergparadiese.de/bergtour-zur-notkarspitze
A great round with @derKlein and a huge portion of views :) Difficulty: T3+ and surefootedness From the Ettaler Mühle we went straight up the first 550 meters of a steep path, some of which had ropes to protect us. You should be fairly free from vertigo here. After that you can relax a bit on a straight technical path and enjoy the scenery and the view of the Notkarspitze. After that it gets a bit steeper before you reach the summit on the north ridge. There are currently a few small snow fields here. Once we got to the top, we were really lucky that we had the summit to ourselves for a few minutes. This changed very quickly *lol* After a long break with a fantastic backdrop, we then went down to Ettal via the Ziegelspitze and Ochsensitz. Here we felt like we were at the train station. People were panting, crawling and hiking towards us. Luckily we were already going downhill. It's worth it to be there early :-) Just before Ettal, there is a long forest path back to the car park. The elevation gain was around 1140 metres.
Challenging ascent and descent but doable in a total of 4 1/2 hours. Relatively little visited today.
Today I climbed three peaks, but it was hard work. I was challenged both uphill and downhill. Thanks to the great tour description on routentipp.com, I decided to take the tough climb to the Notkarspitze first, as this path downhill is brutal (at least for me). I found the path uphill to be outstanding. Steep, with ropes for safety and help in places, and narrow paths along the precipice, just great. On the way I came across a toad, but it wasn't nearly as frightened as I was 🤣. The last 800 meters to the summit were just hard in the midday sun, but when I got to the Notkarspitze, everything was forgotten. Great summit with lots of space, so there were no panic attacks today 😜. The path to the Ziegelspitz was also mostly great, even though it was of course quite a bit downhill. It didn't get any easier for muscles and bones on the way to the Ochsensitz and the descent after the three peaks was quite painful, but it was definitely better to go down than the way I took uphill. A great tour that I finished half an hour before the thunderstorm started. The land is flooded right now. It's crazy how quickly it goes here. PS: I just found out in the supermarket that tomorrow is a holiday here. That wasn't planned 😝.
Almost 1,000 vertical meters over 3.7 km in deep wintry conditions - probably a guarantee of solitude on this wonderful 4th Advent! That's how it was then, the steep climb from the Ettaler Mühle (already heavily frequented by cross-country skiers P, 3 € / 4h) We went straight up, short rope-secured places, but they didn't cause any problems. I actually only met the first ray of sunshine and human beings at the summit cross. There was a little more action on the descent to the Ochsensitz, where you automatically take the Ziegelspitz with you, before an adventurous little path makes its way through winds down the steep slope, I didn't find the junction at first, there are no markings. You should be sure-footed, short sections with ladders. Over the wide path back to the mill.
A steep climb on a shady slope, only interrupted by a wide valley basin where you can relax for a moment. In the evening sun, the beautiful ridge path to Ziegelspitz and shortly after the way down from Ochsensitz I found the "right" path this time, on the tree there is a large F1 painted on it in red paint. After a few meters without a path over grass, a wonderful little path winds its way dizzyingly down the mountain, always accompanied by the warning bells from the Ettal monastery walls. For the way back over Ziegelspitz and past Ochsensitz, it took me about 45 minutes longer downhill than up, but my bones are still alive :)
