This route was planned by komoot.
Due to problems with the GPS, the length of the route is unfortunately not correct. Day ticket for Linderhof Palace car park (car): 3 euros. The tour, especially up to the Brunnenkopfhütte, can be done without any problems and is actually well suited for families with children. It is mostly a path that basically resembles a forest road. It is only from the hut that the trail goes over, which initially does not have any difficult sections. At the same time, the scenic part of the hike begins. The view of the impressive east face of the Klammspitz soon opens up. The last few meters up to the summit then become more demanding: a bit of climbing is unavoidable, albeit at a low level of difficulty. Two passages are rope insured. The view from the Klammspitz is great. The summit cross is located on a small plateau that has a relatively large amount of space. So some hikers have enough space at the summit (which is not the case with the neighboring Brunnenkopf).
Leisurely hike to the Grosse Klammspitze. On foot it was a negligible 4.5 km on this tour, the eBike part made up the biggest part. You can stop at the Brunnenkopfhütte, the eponymous mountain can be reached from there in a few minutes. In contrast to the small Klammspitze, a well-marked path leads to the Grosse Klammspitze, which is rated T3 at the beginning and T4 towards the end. In between there is a short rope-secured piece in a sandy gully. The normal route to the summit is neither exposed nor very demanding, but the ridge is so wide that you can deviate from the ideal line and put together almost any scramble. Either way, sure-footedness is a prerequisite. At the summit you will be rewarded with a brilliant view over the Brunnenkopfkamm and countless Ammergau mountains. At the end, a piece of the way back is missing, komoot decided to stop the recording here.
This mountain tour to the Große Klammspitz has two faces: the easy approach on wide forest paths to the Brunnenkopfhütte and the subsequent, increasingly demanding path to the summit. At the very end, your hands are also needed for easy climbing. The Große Klaammspitz is a summit of the seven »GEH7 tours«. The individual day tours do not lead to the "well-known hotspots" such as Alpspitz, Zugspitze or Karwendelspitze. They lead to special peaks that are »in the second row«. They are often unknown and therefore much less frequented. They are by no means overshadowed by the "big names" and score with their very own, individual highlights. 🚉 Arrival by bus and train: Oberammergau is very well connected to the railway system. For example, the Werdenfelsbahn runs from Munich. Special ticket offers also make the destination interesting for day trips. From Oberammergau you can take the 9622 bus to Ettal and on to Linderhof Palace. 🍴During the tour you can stop at the Brunnenkopfhütte. The Brunnenkopfhütte is a small refuge of the DAV Bergland section and also offers a few places to stay overnight. The opening times are usually from May to October - more information can be found on the website of the hut. After the hike, you can make a detour and stop at Ettal Abbey.
