Arno River Loop from Florence to Parco dei Renai

This circular tour is ideal for those seeking the perfect balance between culture and nature, and is perfect for hybrid bikes, trekking, or e-bikes. Starting from the Florence train station, the itinerary takes you straight into the heart of the city: you'll pass through the historic center, enjoying a quick and memorable overview of the Renaissance architecture before reaching the Arno River.

Once on the river, the route becomes relaxing and paced. You'll follow the water through the historic Cascine Park, the city's green lung. The main stretch is the Arno Cycle Path, a beautiful trail with a wide, flowing gravel surface. After about 14 kilometers of flat terrain, you'll reach Renai Park. This large green space is a perfect oasis for a regenerating break, offering services, picnic areas, and a swimming lake (in the summer months).

After the park, you'll reach Signa, the turning point of the route, a village known for its historic straw-weaving tradition. The return journey follows the opposite bank, offering new glimpses and unique perspectives of Florence and its hills. The itinerary culminates with a grand, triumphant return to the cradle of the Renaissance, passing iconic landmarks such as Piazza dei Pitti and the legendary Ponte Vecchio. Be careful here: the Ponte Vecchio is pedestrianized and can be crowded; we recommend dismounting and proceeding on foot for safety. Conclude the tour by returning to the starting point, with the beauty of the Arno River and Florence etched before your eyes.
