The trip to Vaxholm on ferry #4 is recommended. The island itself is also recommended, but the hike feels forced; after the first kilometer, you're walking along the road through residential areas. It only gets interesting again at the shore... You can do it in a shorter version, but it's a bit lacking in highlights...

In retrospect, I chose this June 15th as the most beautiful day of 2023. The reason was this incredibly beautiful hike on a perfect day in a dreamlike place. And the best came last: VVaxholms Hembygdsgårds Café is a place where time should simply stand still. Definitely include it in your tour.

A trip to the scissors of Stockholm🇸🇪: Vaxholm, a wonderful island👍! The ferry ⛴️goes directly from Stockholm to Vaxholm. After approx. 1:15 hours drive, where you get to see a lot of idyllic landscape 🏞️, you reach the port ⚓️ of Vaxholm. First of all: Take a look at the timetable so you know when you could take the ferry ⛴️ back. But don't worry: there are enough driving. Right at the start you will find a small boulangerie🥐 where you can have a drink and eat something (cinnamon buns). Then it's a short walk through a beautiful residential district. Then on the left you are directly at the "sea"🌊. You go there all the time on the way there, you walk right next to the water. But be careful: the path gets a bit demanding at the end (many roots). But we also made it without hiking boots. At the end of this path you go up a mountain and you will be rewarded with a beautiful view. Then back towards the street via a forest path, past the town hall and then back towards the city and port via the cemetery ⚓️. So one side next to the water and back again through the island. Very few tourists from Stockholm make such a fantastic day trip. The track is just perfect ;) For me, the following always applies in the forest: Always stay on the paths and do not disturb the wild animals. I would like to give them that lay hearts. . IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Following / driving /etc. my tour (including highlights) is at your own risk! This applies above all to self-inflicted accidents, damage to crops or committed administrative offences. Route sections can change in the meantime!
