Kachelduin Route – Hollands Duin

This short walking route of just over three and a half kilometers is very varied. From the parking lot at the Noordwijk information center, you first walk through a pine forest. After passing this beautiful section, you enter an open, rolling dune area. Beautiful white gravel paths alternate with stretches of sand. After just over a kilometer, you reach the Kachelduin viewpoint. Here you have a magnificent view of the forest on one side and the vast dunes on the other. The nice thing is that the view here changes with the seasons.

Just before you pass the two-kilometer mark, you can choose to turn right onto the Houwaarderduin viewpoint. Here you'll see not only the diverse nature but also a clear view of the sea. You can also choose to simply continue straight ahead and skip the viewpoint. The last kilometer and a half you walk through a forest again, after which you return to the parking lot.
