Short Asitz Loop – trail running with a mountain panorama

The Little Asitz Loop starts at the mountain station of the Asitz or Steinberg cable car and takes you on a challenging trail running route with sweeping views of the Leogang Mountains and the Steinernes Meer. After a short climb towards the Großer Asitz (Great Asitz), you turn right towards the Seidlalm and continue along well-maintained alpine paths. Open sections offer views of meadow slopes before a narrow path leads you to the Wildenkarhütte (Wildenkar Hut).

From there, the route loops back to the Seidlalm and finally returns to the cable cars via the Großer Asitz. The mix of alpine trails, wider paths, and sunny sections gives this loop the perfect character if you want to combine training with a genuine mountain experience.

It's best to start early in the day, bring plenty of water, and check the cable car operating hours beforehand to ensure you can start your run without any problems.
