The route begins from the Gaschney parking lot with a good kilometer of gentle incline towards the Hinterschallern, followed by a challenging climb interrupted by a flatter, more rolling section.
Once at the summit of the Hohneck, one of the major peaks of the Vosges Mountains, you continue along a fun ridge section. The loop then winds around the Kastelberg before descending to the small hill of Kerbholz. After this section, you head towards the Fischboedle and Schiessrothried lakes. If you need a break, the tranquility of these lakes will help lower your heart rate.
This loop offers a complete immersion in the iconic landscapes of the Vosges Mountains. Alternating between panoramic ridge views, forest trails, and technical sections around glacial lakes, you'll experience a complete, demanding, and wild adventure, typical of the great routes of the Haut-Rhin region.
The trail markings change along the route as you connect different sections of the path. We recommend starting with the track downloaded to your phone.
