The Pioneers Trail is one of the most accessible trails in Gatineau Park. It's close to downtown and parking lot P3, and a bike path also leads to it. Along the way, several interpretive panels present the history of the Outaouais region's settlement and the forest's biodiversity.
After parking, you cross the road that brought you here by car or bike. A wide, compacted stone path then begins, guiding you through the forest. Keep your eyes peeled; you might be lucky enough to spot some wildlife.
The loop is part of the inclusive trail network. It's therefore accessible to most people, with a few steep inclines in the second half of the trail, but these remain manageable.
