Good evening again from rainy and cold Albany, on the south coast of Western Australia! I've now found the time to upload and comment on our tour from October 1st (that really gets stressful after three days without internet)! :-)) We set off early in the morning towards Bluff Knoll Car Park! Bluff Knoll is the highest peak in the Sterling Range! We wanted to climb it today! The weather was great, the sun was shining, there were beautiful clouds and we were fit for the tough climb! Wait a minute, fit? Well, at least that's what we thought at first! :-)) The start was promising! It was a moderate climb. But soon there were steps of varying heights and depths. The wind got stronger and the sun became more merciless! I did this hike in 2009 and couldn't remember it being so hard, but I was 15 years younger then! :-)) Towards the summit the path became a little flatter again, which is something you can't say about the wind! Nothing flattened out, quite the opposite! But when we reached the summit, we were in for a big surprise: no wind! It was crazy, there wasn't a breath of wind up here! The wind just bounced off the north face... So we had some wonderful conversations with Australians and their children (it's the holidays right now) while we fortified ourselves and used up our water supplies! The descent was much more pleasant and relaxed, also because two kids accompanied us who wanted to find out everything about Germany! It was a lot of fun and everyone had fun! When we arrived at the car park we said goodbye and everyone was happy to have climbed the "Knoll"! A great day was coming to an end! It was a fantastic experience! That's it for today, the next tours of the last few days will come tomorrow (possibly)! Best wishes!
