On the Neuer-Burg-Weg leisure trail, you'll experience legendary stories, as Knight Kuno von Falkenstein recounts a dramatic tale. On the path around the small town of Neuerburg, you'll experience a dramatic love story at the leisure spots and discover its hiding places. There are also impressive views of the town and the surrounding area.
And then coffee and cake at La Veranda in Bollendorf-Pont with a view of the Sauer
I had already copied this tour on which Leonhard accompanied me 3 times from other komootlers. However, expectations weren't that high. Would the 40 minute journey be worth it? But what of! After the first 3.5 km, it was already clear that if you can still hike the rest of the way properly, then the hike was worth it! Due to the many places that invite you to rest, I would recommend plenty of time to explore and plan provisions for a picnic. We started a bit late and had to make do with less light for the last 2 km. After we had lit a candle at the chapel, the crescent moon shone particularly brightly for the last few meters to the car, which we reached at 7:40 p.m. https://www.naturwanderpark.eu/wanderwege/a-neuer-burg-weg https://www.naturpark-suedeifel.de/a-burg-neuerburg-und-lehnshaus-1 https://neuerburg-eifel.de/index.php/stadt-neuerburg/wandern
Yesterday I was out and about in the NaturWanderPark delux in the southern Eifel. 🥾 With the warm ☀️ temperatures and the breathtaking scenery, it felt like we were hiking in Greece or Spain. We were following in the footsteps of Knight Kuno in the Middle Ages on a 12.7 km long rock path around Neuerburg Castle. Highlights along the way: ⭐️ Parish Church of Saint Nicholas ⭐️ Bell Tower ⭐️ Vicarage - former Vogthaus ⭐️ The ax tower ⭐️ Koblenz path and medieval feeling ⭐️ The Panoramaweg and the small and large pulpit ⭐️ Great views of the Enz valley and the heart of the picturesque town of Neurburg. 🐶 The tour is absolutely dog-friendly because there are many forest sections. However, I saved Asta the hike in the current heat wave.
A very nice hike with many viewpoints on and around the Neuerburg. However, good basic fitness is recommended.
I really loved this hiking trail. 🤩 There are some great highlights on this tour and I never found the route monotonous. Short and sweet, highly recommended. LG
If you want to hike in the NaturWanderPark delux on traces of the Middle Ages, this route is just right for you. It takes you along romantic rocky paths around Neuerburg Castle. The mighty building forms a magnificent ensemble with the parish church of St. Nicholas, the bell tower and today's vicarage - formerly the bailiff's house. The Beilsturm, once a watchtower, and the "Koblenz Path" leading over an old defensive wall bring the Middle Ages back to life. The panoramic trail and the small and large pulpit offer impressive views of the Enz valley and the heart of the picturesque town of Neurburg. Eligius and Kreuzkapelle, the Marian column on the market square and the "black picture" - resting in a 700-year-old oak tree - give an idea of the piety of the people of Neuburg. The colorful city park directly on the Enzbach invites you to unwind and review the tour.
For the first Sunday in the New Year we have chosen a particularly beautiful hike, the Neuer-Burg-Weg. Unlike the official route description, we don't start in the beautiful Eifel town of Neuerburg, but at Neuerburg Castle of the same name. With the first rays of sunshine in the New Year, after we have paid a "road toll", we visit the outdoor facilities of the well-preserved castle from the 12th century. Nowadays it is used as a youth hostel, which is certainly a special adventure for every young knight and maiden knight! From the castle we go to the charming town of Neuerburg, where, in addition to beautiful buildings, we are particularly fascinated by the Neuerburg double waterfall. The old manorial mill stands on the rock outcrop between the two waterfalls. Then the path leads us out into nature on largely natural paths. We hike uphill and downhill through varied forests, with beautiful views of the historically grown town with castle, feudal house in the castle keep with the well-preserved tower of the former city wall and the late Gothic parish church of St. Nicholas. But also in the further course of the NaTour cultural highlights await us: The Hexentanzplatz, the Kreuzkapelle, the Beilsturm and - still in town - the Eligiuskapelle. The crowning glory of the tour is the "Schwarzbildchen", a place of pilgrimage dedicated to devotion to Mary. According to legend, knight Kuno von Falkenstein sought protection here. Saint Mary showed him this hollow tree in which to hide. Today there is a black Madonna in it. And before you go back to the castle, you can stop off at Neuerburg's market square. All round a successful round! We would love to come back!
