The tour deserves the premium rating - the information boards also convey a lot of the life in this region at that time
My office was invited to the company outing of RR Vermessung from Rastatt today. We went together on the "Hahn und Henne" with a stop at the August Lehmann mountain farm and finished at the Gasthof Vogt on Mühlstein. We were lucky with the weather - it only rained on the last 2 kilometers. We were spared the thunderstorm with hail. An all-round beautiful day 😎.
On Sunday I was finally on the road again with the hiking club. It was so nice. Fantastic weather, a wonderful trail and lovely company. The round is a designated hiking trail, everywhere you can find the motif of rooster and hen. A really recommendable round!
Started this morning in Unterharmersbach for the official start of the Hahn und Henne Premium Trail. As so often here in the Black Forest, a beautifully and lovingly designed path, with countless benches and great rest/Schnaps opportunities. The first 5 km approx. it only goes up, not easy 🥵. Always great paths, lush green and mossy, a lot of mushrooms along the way and great views, make the whole thing a little easier. At the top we looted our packed lunch and strengthened it well, then we went steadily downhill. A wonderful hiking day and I'm already looking forward to tomorrow🤗
Lack of time and creativity and because I was really late, we went on a well-known round. Overall quite easy to walk, unfortunately mostly on gravel. Now and then small paths. Just a round for a long walk. There are also two "petrol stations" where you can fill up at significantly better conditions given the currently prevailing fuel prices. Hats off to the elderly gentleman who jogged up and down the mountain singing (!)! It's often the little things that cheer up the mind. 🙃
The 🐓 and 🐔 way surprised me positively. Many beautiful narrow paths - very varied. Just right for getting started after a long break.
...and today I have it all to myself. I only come across a few farmers tending to their fields/meadows. On mostly narrow paths I enjoy the view and let the warm summer wind blow around my nose. The smell of freshly mown grass brings back memories of childhood. Grandpa used to mow with a scythe and it was great fun for us children to jump around in the haystack. One or two of you will recognize this route; when the 🐓 crows, the 🐔 🐔 🐔 run. 😉
A wonderful hike with great views over the Middle Black Forest 🌲🌲🌲 and into the Vosges. I have never seen so many benches and other seating as here - and all in the "rooster and hen" look 🐓🐓. And some of them even serve high-alcohol drinks from the surrounding distilleries. Tip for a stop: Vogt auf Mühlstein serves delicious sausage salad with fried potatoes!
