Surprisingly, everything went according to plan A today 😉. Bielefeld, the city that doesn't exist, was the destination 😀. We found it and got out healthy 👍. We started again at a chilly 4 degrees 😵💫, but it quickly got warmer ☺️. We found the intended destination, Parkhaus Welle, immediately after a seemingly endless 🚗 drive 😊. A good decision, it's located right in the old town and even has a toilet (free with a parking ticket), which is probably extremely rare in Germany ☺️. After a few steps, we crossed the Platz der Menschrechte (Human Rights Square), actually a beautiful green space ☺️. Shocking how littered this place was 😠, probably it's also a human right to disfigure one's surroundings like this, as others have to clean up the mess 😡. In a short time, we reached the Sparrenburg, one of the city's landmarks. Preparations were underway for the arrival of the participants of the Hermannlauf 😲, so the visitor density was high 😀. However, we were able to escape the hustle and bustle quickly ☺️ and continued our tour through the Botanical Garden 🌺, past the zoo 🦬🐎 (where there was absolute chaos in the parking lot), feeling like it was only uphill 😢. Farmhouse museum, climbing park, Winzerberg, it's amazing what this city (with 330,000 inhabitants) has to offer and how many green oases are available here 🤗. Of course, a delicious 🍦 was a must 😋. Dinner tonight will be at the restaurant of our accommodation 🥰. A beautiful day is coming to an end ...
From A to B please ignore because I forgot to stop the recording 🙈 A is the beginning and also the end 😊 Sorry.
A great day tour through and around Bielefeld. Pleasantly surprised by the wonderful surroundings and the many excursion destinations on the tour. Lots of places to stop for refreshments make the day an experience even in bad weather. The actual tour is 7 km long and is well signposted.
Signposted circular tour 🥾 through Bielefeld, plus further steps on the Hermannsweg 😊. There were highlights worth seeing that I didn't expect at all: ➡️ Winzerscher Garden at Johannisberg 🍇 ➡️ Sparrenburg 👍(to my shame I have to admit that I've never been there 🙈) ➡️ Botanical Garden 🌿🌸 ➡️ Ollerdissen Zoo🦬🐻 It was nice, just a bit street-heavy, but that's logical, Bielefeld is a big city too😉. I like the Hermannsweg in the forest much better😊
Always wonderful. A short walk in and around Bielefeld in beautiful autumn weather. Highly recommended for families. The free Olderdissen Zoo, Johannisberg Mountain, and Sparrenburg Castle are highlights, and you can round it off with a visit to the city center.
Beautiful urban hike including the zoo, botanical garden and Sparrenburg castle🥰
A wonderful tour of Bielefeld. From the Tierpark Olderdissen car park to the Botanical Garden. Then a round over the Johannis Friedhof. And further up to the Sparrenburg. After the morning fog in the sun... that was quite exhausting 🤪 The farmhouse museum has fallen victim to the heat.... we'll save that for another hike 😉 A very nice tour worth seeing 👏
