Karloo Pool

Highlight • River

Karloo Pool is often noted as one of the best natural swimming holes in the Sydney area. The pool stretches about 20 metres long and 10 metres wide, and can reach up to 3 metres deep. There is a shallow rock ledge along the edges of the pool, which makes getting into the water fairly easy. On a hot day, the pools can get quite busy, and the water is famously clear.

Uloola Falls

Highlight • Waterfall

Uloola Falls is a seasonal waterfall with bush camping and viewpoints. The falls drop about 10 metres, not huge, but beautiful. The falls end at a small pool that is popular for swimming. In spring, between September and October, tall red gymea lilies bloom nearby.

Robertson Knoll

Highlight • Viewpoint

Robertson Knoll has a lookout with lovely north-east views out over Sydney, the Eastern Suburbs, Botany Bay, Kangaroo Creek and all the way out to the ocean. The knoll sits on a large sandstone outcrop with a great break in the eucalyptus forest for a view.

Kangaroo Creek Pool has a small set of falls, Kangaroo Creek Falls. The falls enter the pool at its northern end and there is another small set of falls at the southern end of the pool where the water flows out. It's a stunning freshwater pool, fairly large and truly a hidden gem in Royal National Park. The track and pool foliage can get overgrown and create habitats for leeches, so wear long pants while hiking and check yourself after swimming.
