June 23, 2025, Traufgang "Ochsenbergtour"

What a beautiful walk! 10 kilometers that will make any hiker's heart beat faster—at least, that's how we felt. 😏💕 Heathlands, shady forest paths, the approximately 40-meter-long prehistoric Heidenstein Cave, the Alpenblick rest area and other viewpoints, and the Mehlbaum nature reserve, dotted with orchids, make this tour a pure hiking pleasure. 🪻🐑

Today we hiked the Traufgang Ochsenbergtour. The path is signposted in both directions. After we had already hiked the loop with Moni on July 18th, 21, we turned the tour around today and walked in the opposite direction. The path is very well signposted in both directions, so you can just follow the signs and don't need Komoot navigation.

A beautiful and varied tour through forest and juniper meadows with many break benches and wonderful views. And after a little more than half, you automatically end up in the Ochsenberg mountain restaurant. An ideal place to stop for refreshments with a large children's playground, which can also be reached by car. Probably not recommended at the weekend 😊, but wonderful during the week before it goes back over a last incline to the Kälberwiesen car park. Highly recommended round 👍

Today we went to the last eaves that was still open on my hiking list. From the Kälberwiese car park first on the beautiful Schnecklesfels with a great view if it hadn't been so cloudy. Passing the 40 meter deep Heidenstein Cave, which was already inhabited thousands of years ago, it goes through the forest and past meadows. Beautiful rosehip bushes to the right and left and after a few kilometers you come to the Alpenblick vantage point, where you couldn't see anything today. I was glad that it stayed dry and so we went straight on via the Höhengasthof Ochsenhaus over the Katzenbuckel and the Ochsenberg back to the car. A strenuous 10km loop as it was very humid today. In sunny weather you certainly have a beautiful panorama!

Today a relaxing round of connoisseurs in spring temperatures. We write 01/01/2022! And it's 12 degrees, 20 degrees felt in the sun. It could also be May. The year starts well ..... 🌞👌👍 or do we get the bill late on Easter with snow showers? 😱 Anyway, today it was time to enjoy. For the second time this year we met Daniela E. and Wilfried E. by chance. We have the same "hiking taste". This can be safely used for upcoming hikes with Komootlers, so help the coincidence a little bit. 😉 This time we thought about taking a souvenir photo. 📷 The Ochsenberg tour is ideal for such weather. Lots of open space to soak up the sun 🌞 and beautiful views from the eaves and even a view of the Alps, if you're lucky. 🏔🏔🏔🏔 We were lucky today. the vantage point was full of bon vivants and everyone looked in amazement in the same direction. The cell phone photos don't reflect that. They only serve to see what can be seen. 😉 Originally it was really great! 🥰

On the first day of vacation I started a tour in beautiful weather. I started at the Kälberwiese car park. Most of the time it is narrow paths that lead you. With wonderful views of Albstadt and of course beautiful flower meadows. The Schnecklesfels used to be a Celtic settlement. The Heidenstein Cave is great for children. (As bats have their winter quarters in the cave, the cave cannot be entered from September to the end of April). The Heidenstein Cave is 40m long and accessible. At the Alpenblick snack area there are wonderful views when the weather is nice.

This late autumn forest is simply indescribable in its blaze of color! It doesn't need sunshine to make it shine. It rained on the second half of the tour, the air is clear and fresh. There are very few hikers on the way. But we got into the middle of a mountain bike race. But there is enough space on the paths. The Ochsenberg eaves is a great round. But what really bothered us today on Saturday: on the last third you are accompanied by constant two-stroke noise. I didn't notice that last time.

Translated by Google

That was therapeutic hiking. In the first third I ran right past the stamp house, then cardio training with phases of 185 pulse, but in the middle a nice mix of forest, meadow and gravel paths. A stop at the Ochsenhaus is a must. And then the last 1.5 km were really challenged again. Anyone who is plagued by depression here will get their mind off things for 2-3 hours. Great tour! Thank you Albstadt 😎
