Hiking

Proud deer, fantastic views and plenty of nature - more variety than on the approximately twelve kilometer long LandStreifer Reken-Lembeck-Haltern "Wild Wald Weitsicht" is hardly possible! We recommend that you plan a little more time for this great hike, because in addition to lots of greenery, you can also explore the Lembeck Biological Station and forget the time in the Granat Wildlife Park between fallow deer, lynx and peacocks.

Your starting point is at the parking lot not far from the biological station. It is picturesquely situated on the historic Punsmann farm and has been ensuring the preservation of native animal and plant species for over 30 years. It's worth taking a look inside! On shady forest paths it then goes through the idyllic landscape of the Hohe Mark. After four kilometers the forest opens up and invites you to take a breather with a view on a sunny bench.

You cross Halterner Straße and walk to the Granat wildlife park, where there are all kinds of animals to discover. Feeding allowed! On the Galgenberg, the fire watchtower is not just a little training for your calves. Once you have tackled the 21 floors, the wooded area of the Hohe Mark lies at your feet. Simply fantastic! From here it is only a leisurely stretch back to the parking lot without any significant meters in altitude.

Unfortunately, in North Rhine-Westphalia benches for a little rest are rather rare. Here you have the opportunity to catch your breath and have a great view over the field.

February 7, 2026,5. LandStreifer Reken-Lembeck-Haltern „Wild Wald Weitsicht“ 😎

Very nice tour. Very muddy and slippery in places due to the weather, but otherwise really good.
Nice view. I only climbed halfway up the fire watchtower today.

Great autumn tour between Reken, Dorsten-Lembeck and Haltern am See. The start was at the car park very close to the nature park house of the biological station. Right at the beginning, the route at the junction from the Im Höltken path to the Torfweg was closed due to forestry work. The diversion led through a wonderfully wild forest area …

To finish off the three days of the Panoramasteig, we set off very early today towards Hohe Mark before half of the Ruhr area sets off😀😀.
Accompanied by the spring concert of the local songbird choir, we went through forest and fields in wonderful weather on this land roamer that lived up to its name😃😃👍👍

Very comfortable through the green landscape, hidden object picture with deer is included 😄 and on the way back stop by Tante Guste, open Thursday to Sunday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Delicious ☕️🥧🍰🍺

I had actually planned to visit the optician today. Wandermuddi needs new glasses. 🤓 But since the weather today was more suitable for hiking boots 🥾🥾, the optician just has to wait until the rain comes. That was clearly a great decision. Although the journey there was quite tiring through very crowded streets. 🫣 But when we arrived, the focus …

A real adventure for nature lovers and action lovers! The hike winds through dense forests, burbles past sparkling streams and offers spectacular views that will make even the most tired eyes shine. With every step you immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature, while the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves play a harmonious symphony. It is the …

This afternoon I finally had time for a little walk and continued hiking on the Landstreifer Challenge 😎.
In the humid weather it was a nice tour, which mainly leads through the Hohe Mark. The "wild" was supposed to be seen at the Granat Nature Park, but it hid from me.
But there were nice views of the fields and …
