Blue and green: The Dam Route – cycling through the Rhineland

The sun is shining and the desire to cycle is calling - this 60 kilometer long tour is ideal for a wonderful day trip with varied ups and downs along glittering blue dams and lush green vegetation.

For example, you can easily reach the starting point at Marienheide train station from Cologne with the RB25. There are also parking spaces at the train station. Immediately after the start you set off on the water quintet cycle path. A little later, the blue of the Brucher Dam shines towards you, where you can even jump into the water. Past the pretty, small Bunte Kerk, a fortified church that is more than 1,000 years old, we continue on the Bergisches Panoramaradweg.

After a short detour to the headwaters of the Wupper, you arrive at the Lingesee dam, which tempts you to take a swim. The second detour on your tour takes you through the wonderful nature of the Oberbergisches Land. You can expect the finest panoramas, idyllic Wupper paths and the friendly town of Wipperfürth, where you can replenish your provisions halfway.

The Neyetalsperre and the Bevertalsperre will enchant you on the second half of your tour and of course offer opportunities to jump into the cool water. Exhausted and happy, you return to your starting point with wonderful impressions.
