Today is the first day of a half-week small Black Forest tour: The Alpirsbach Black Forest Trail was on the program. Together with the “Path Zwo” and the connecting enduro traverse, it is one of Germany's longest trails. Today we “only” drove the actual Black Forest Trail, which, with a length of 4 km and a gradient of approx. 500 m, already offers a lot of driving fun: the upper part is still relatively flat, but with numerous smaller kickers and mini-tables. The middle part then becomes significantly steeper, much heavier and quite rough (the corresponding sections always have a - spatially separate - bypass, so that girlfriend came down relaxed), and at the bottom there is another kind of flowy jump line. The whole thing garnished with grandiose views of the Rhine valley, France and the Vosges! And at the foot of the trail then the beer garden of the "Spinnerhof" and the half-timbered idyll of the scattered mountain village of Saßbachwalden! Gorgeous! The uphill is btw easy to ride, the worst comes at the beginning ;-) Currently there is no shuttle through Spinnerhof, but you could take the panorama bus on the weekend, but then it's best to book several days in advance! In the meantime we are in Freiburg or Kirchzarten - tomorrow new adventures :-)
On the way home, the trails near Sasbachwalden were on the route: Statera, Alpirsbacher and Schaeffler lead down the mountain. I'm not entirely sure which one starts and ends where. But it is clear that there are some pretty challenging sections. After the heavy rain yesterday, some of the trails were muddy and the stones/roots were wet. That made the whole thing a bit trickier 🙈 The route offers a fantastic view of the Rhine plain at several points on the descent. However, there is a lot going on on a summer Sunday like today. Not necessarily on the trails, but on the hiking trails and of course the Black Forest High Road
