They bloom in all imaginable colors: dark wine red, soft vanilla yellow and delicate purple adorn the flowers of the orchids that bloom along the approximately ten kilometer long lion's path. The tour takes you into the Wasserberg-Haarberg nature reserve and is an insider tip, especially for nature lovers.
You start your hike with great views on the saddle between Reichenbach im Täle and Unterböhringen. From here it goes straight uphill through the fragrant juniper heaths to magical viewpoints and cozy benches in the shade of sweeping trees. On the ascent to the Haarberg you can walk through the orchid meadows and enjoy the colorful flowers of numerous rare plants.
In gentle ascent and descent you hike through fragrant forest and leave civilization far behind you. This comes into view again at the Wasserberghaus hiking home and offers you the perfect opportunity for a long break. Freshly strengthened, you now wind your way along the edge of the forest around the Wasserberg and have three Kaiserberge, the valley and the babbling Fischbach in front of your eyes. As soon as you reach the Wasserbergweg, you are back at the starting point of the tour.

Hello dear hiking friends, all good things are .... 4.😂. After doing this tour in summer and autumn, and even when there was a lot of snow, it was time again. Despite the prediction that it might rain, I felt like it. Unfortunately, my day didn't start well, I had to do something in the village before I could go on the hike ... an elderly lady damaged my car and she would not have reported it if, fortunately, witnesses had not responded. She said she didn't notice because her radio was always so loud. But you heard it rumbling around, said a witness .... and Zoya was completely blown away ..... at least it turned out well and the damage can be regulated ... LUCKY, there are still people who are mindful are and don't look the other way and react. But then I went and Zoya felt better again ... the tour is always special for me ... at the top of the summit cross 😎 you have a gigantic view and the sun was shining ... luck again ... because that The green of the trees shines even stronger in the sun and I was flashed. Clouds and sun then alternated, the wind was cool. What I particularly like there are the many wildflowers ... some very small ... there are sometimes tons of orchids ... but they weren't there yet ... so I have to go there again in early summer ... too the butterflies stayed in their hiding places today ... the next stop was the Wasserberghaus and I was shocked ... where did the trees go? Everyone likes ... why? and what is done then? Unfortunately I didn't meet anybody, I really would have liked to ask ... they were so old trees ... sad ...... from there you have the first great view of the Drei-Kaiserberge, but something was going on. ... dark clouds and hazy .. it must have rained .. I shouldn't have thought .. because then we find it .. but only very lightly and not for long! 😂 On the way it goes down through the forest ... and then around the mountain ... I found a cute little mouse on the way, I thought she was dead ... and wanted her, as I do with all the animals I find on the way, lay them on the ground and cover them with leaves etc. ... when I saw that they were still breathing ... but what can be done ... nothing .. . Perhaps her time had come. Perhaps she was sick or injured (with nothing to be seen from the outside). So I carefully picked up the tender creature and laid it on sheets of paper and spoke to her well ... maybe she made it and just had to relax ... oh yes, I'm a bit sensitive and sentimental🥰. We then had beautiful views until we were back on the beaten path. Normally there is more going on here and it blooms and flutters ... I was really too early ... but there were still a few beautiful bloomers😎, I have no idea what their names are, because my super duper Flora app that Carola recommended to me didn't work because my surfing speed was reduced (I just got into trouble with it and complained - but nothing to be done, they claim I used almost 7 GB in 20 days, which definitely can't be true😳) Be So, I'll google it for what I've seen there ... or dear Carola knows ?? 😌😌😌 Again and again we had sunny sections ... the area there is simply beautiful. I send you my best regards and wish you a nice evening 💫💕🍀☘️🙋♀️🐾
Start of the hike from the hiking car park in Reichenbach im Täle. Immediately a steep ascent to the Haarberg follows, from up there a great view! We continue towards the Wasserberghaus. The whole route is very well signposted. A stop at the Wasserberghaus with a MEGA view of the Drei Kaiserberge. Then a little further and then it's back to the starting point. Of course, this will take a while. Just enjoy the view and nature. Sturdy shoes are a prerequisite! This hike is definitely worth it. A beautiful piece of earth.
The lion path "Orchid Path" in Reichenbach im Täle is particularly suitable for nature lovers. The Wasserberg-Haarberg nature reserve offers a wealth of rare plants and animal species that can be admired along the way. A special highlight is the panoramic view from the summit of the Haarberg over the Obere Filstal. A visit to the Wasserberghaus with excellent Swabian cuisine is worthwhile. There is currently a closure in the Gairenbuckel - Wasserberg (Panoramaweg) area. A diversion is signposted. You can follow in the footsteps of the lion in the district of Göppingen: The lion paths stand for hiking with quality standards and lure with impressive views, varied natural landscapes and mysterious places. Sixteen circular hiking trails, between 3 and 24 kilometers long, offer hiking fun for almost every taste. The "Orchideenpfad" lion path in Reichenbach im Täle is a circular path certified by the German Hiking Association in the "nature pleasure" category. The 9.3 kilometer tour starts on the saddle between Reichenbach im Täle and Unterböhringen and leads directly to the Wasserberg-Haarberg nature reserve. The path runs above the large and steep juniper heath up to the Haarberg with its wooden crucifix and a fantastic view. Many rare orchids can be found among the numerous animal and plant species that have developed here, which need light and warmth. It continues through the forest and over open limestone meadows to the Wasserberghaus, where you can have a hearty Swabian meal and enjoy the distant view of the Drei Kaiserberge and the Untere Filstal. We hike to the Gairenhof on natural paths and from there continue along the nature reserve. Benches invite you to linger in the most beautiful places. An old fountain at the forest eaves with a karst spring and the possibility of another stop at the nearby pizzeria in the Schützenhaus in Reichenbach im Täle complete the orchid trail. I'm a spring fan. When nature awakens—no, explodes, so to speak—I want to get out. My desk, and especially the work on it, aren't going anywhere. In the Haarberg-Wasserberg nature reserve, the pasque flowers are now in the spotlight, before the orchids steal the show. It's wonderful how the plush blossoms stretch toward the sun. Violets and liverworts join them—a floral riot of purple. Absolutely worth seeing. 💜
Good evening 🙂 today we walked the orchid path, thanks to all Komootler who shared this tour 🙏 we really liked it 🤩 the Wasserberghaus had opened the kiosk and so we took a break there Wege beautiful paths and paths and again and again great views . Many orchids were 🐜 infested with ants have a nice evening 🙋♂️🙋♀️
Fantastically beautiful hike at this time of the year. Wonderfully blooming flower meadows, juniper bushes, lush landscapes and great views. Again and again, benches invite you to stop and enjoy. The "Orchideenpfad" lion path in Reichenbach im Täle is particularly suitable for nature lovers. The Wasserberg-Haarberg nature reserve offers an abundance of rare plants and animal species that can be admired from the path. A special highlight is the panoramic view from the summit of the Haarberg into the Upper Filstal. A visit to the Wasserberghaus with good catering is worthwhile.
