Hiking

"Swigger" has nothing to do with trendy youth slang; it's the first name of the fourth ruler of Gundelfingen from the 12th century. The roughly six-kilometer-long "hochgehswiggert" trail leads you in the ruler's footsteps through the Großes Lautertal recreation area. The tour starts at the Heiligental hiking parking lot.

You'll hike across juniper heaths and along paths through the picturesque Lauter Valley. Along the way, you'll pass numerous meadows, places to stop for refreshments, and barbecue areas. So take it easy on this circular hike and treat yourself to a leisurely break here and there.

Along the way, you'll enjoy magnificent views of the beautiful landscape. The views from Derneck Castle and the Hohengundelfingen ruins are particularly spectacular. Let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of the Lauter Valley, just as Swigger surely was back in the day.

A lovely walk today with a view of the Alps and the first onion cake of the year. We got the last piece at Derneck Castle - very, very tasty and fitting for the autumn mood up there.

small Sunday hike on the premium hiking trail "hochgehswiggert". Although the weather wasn't that bad today, there were only a few hikers on the way.
From the hiking car park near Gundelfingen, first turn right up to Derneck Castle and then, after descending back to Gundelfingen, on the other side of the valley to Hohengundelfingen.
The last descent to the …

The Schwäbiche Alb in autumn is a MUST 🍁🍂🍁🍂
The colors of the mixed forests are fantastic 🤩
If you can then fall back on someone who is very spontaneous, such a hike is twice as fun 😃
I will definitely take a few more hikes from the tour series 🥳

Wonderful Swabian Alb! And thank you to the community of knights from Aulendorf for the private presentation and the fitting in the castle tavern. 😂👍 Swabian Knights: Thumbs up! 🍻👍
