We caught some sun today ... 😊
From the Hochholz hiking car park, we walked along the Heidengraben to the Brille viewpoint. Hohenneuffen Castle targeted along the Albtrauf to the Barnberg Cave. The descent was too muddy and dangerous. Over the Molachsee it went to the Drachenfels and back past the Astro path. The highlight was then the pizza in the courtyard (exclusively to go), Erkenbrechtsweiler, which we ate in a clearing at sunset 👍
A short walk in autumnal temperatures. Before that, we stopped off at the rustic pub Zum Mostkrug in Erkenbrechtsweiler. There are SchwaPas - Swabian tapas - and all kinds of stories from the landlord, who grew up in the converted house. If you like cider, there is a lot on offer here, there are also great tasting options, but there are also plenty of drinking options for everyone else (beer, wine, etc.)
Today we caught the right time window, in which the sun came out a little, in order to do another high-altitude hike.
And after the meal we did a little round... great view of the valley and the Neuffen Castle and the Höllenloch...
Premium walking trail today with a short detour to the parking lot rock. In the hope of some snow, today we chose the short loop along the Celtic oppidum between our everyday duties. Well, apart from a few miserable bits of snow, it was a green-brown nature experience. By the way, the Hochholz hiking car park now costs a flat rate of five euros.
Today I tried a hike of the "Hochgehberge". Great tour that can be viewed in the original on the Hochgehberge account or at www.hochgehberge.de. It is also very pleasant to have your own signage along the way so that the navigation system can stay in the backpack. Only after the quarry is a sign missing that directs you to the edge of the forest. If you miss this, just follow the Astronomieweg that runs parallel. You should also be careful because a tour is crossed by "hochgehkelter" whose sign is very similar to "hochgehsiedelt".
Starting at the "Hochholz" hikers' car park, you walk along the Heidengraben straight towards the "Glasses" vantage point - it doesn't get its name by chance: through the oversized glasses you have a clear view of the Neuffen Valley and the imposing Hohen Neuffen Fortress. I had already done this tour in 2019, today just in 🙃 the opposite direction.
