Top tour! Very good signage. Varied nature After the top tour, we went to the Schlossberg caves https://www.homburger-schlossberghoehlen.de/ and then down to Homburg to https://www.homburger-brauhaus.de/
Short vacation in Saarland tour one: We started in the Hohenburg castle ruins at the parking lot in front of the Schlosshotel, past the Schlossberg caves up to the Stumpfen Gipfel. Continue to the Karlsberg Weiher and the Karlsberg Quelle and then to the orangery and the ruins of the Karlsberg Palace. Unfortunately, almost nothing can be seen of this imposing castle, as it was destroyed to the ground by the French. We continued over the fountain a bit along the Heckbach and then back up to the Karlsberg, before going back down to the Bärenzwinger and the Mohrenbrunnen. Then a short detour to the swan pond and the toast basin. Then we went to the bird house, down to Vogels Brünnchen and then along the Lambsbach valley to the Fischweier Kirrberg. There briefly up to the Merburg on the Malafelsen and then up the slope, then down through the beautiful picture of the romantic Wichtelschlucht and then in a wide arc through the forest back to the Hohen Burg castle ruins. We then inspected it before we went down stairs to the parking lot. Conclusion: A wonderful start to our short WE in Saarland. Beautiful narrow paths and great scenery.
Dear outdoor friends, join us to Homburg, where a few ruins and an orangery await us once again. This time, however, we weren't just surprised by the weather; we were also treated to a wonderful path at the end, which led us along a beautiful stream into a small fairytale forest. A beautiful day is coming to an end. Yesterday, @ℭ𝔬𝔞𝔩𝔪𝔦𝔫𝔢𝔯⚒️🥾🚵♂️🤟 and I decided to hike the Schlossberg tour, including the Schlossberg caves. A very beautiful tour, almost entirely through the forest, pure nature. It's now one of my favorite tours. The elevation gain isn't accurate, of course.

After I saw the weather forecast for today on Friday, it was clear: I needed a vacation. Crisply cold in the sunshine, I thaw out again and want to go outside. You hike a lot on the plateau of the Schlossberg through the high parking lot, so that you are accompanied by the sun almost the entire way. That's how I want the weather to be.
