This route was planned by komoot.
The start today was the summit station of the Westgipfelbahn with 2,140 HM so the first summit could be reached by train. The Stemmerkogel with 2,123 and the Saalbachkogel with 2,092 were the first two peaks. Then we descended to 1,800 HM to head for the summit station at 2,140 HM again. Thus, a three-summit tour and the ride down into the valley with the mountain railway from the west summit to Hinterglemm.
Recommended tour, but you have to pay a little attention to the wind strength reported for the day. Blow us away quite a bit... It starts at the West summit cable car/West summit hut mountain station. There you have the first summit directly without having done anything for it. ;-) The first "peak" to be climbed is the Stemmerkogel. Against the strong wind that day, we go up and down again. Continue up to the Saalbachkogel. Partly you go down over scree. From the Saalbachkogel you can already see the Hacklbergseen, which marks the halfway point of the tour. In addition, I have a good view of the other peaks (from the start of the Schattberg Ost "7 Summits of Saalbach-Hinterglemm" tour). Now it's downhill, including a small detour to the Hacklbergalm. From there you take the path back via part of the panorama path. This is again a path that is so typical and beautiful here, partly with roots, with a great view. It's great that there are one or two benches to enjoy here. The path slowly meanders back up the mountain towards the Westgipfelbahn. The very last stretch up to the Westgipfelhütte back is not really great. You can also stop here again before taking the Westgipfelbahn back down to Hinterglemm.
Every now and then very steep and slippery but otherwise always a very nice panorama
