The circuit begins in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne and leads over the spectacular hairpin bends of Montvernier and on to the Col de Chaussy. In just four kilometers you screw your way up 350 meters in altitude in no less than 18 curves, which already appear dizzying on the map, up to Montvernier.

This route was planned by komoot.
Attack by the southern slope and its 18 bends of Montvernier (3km at 8%) with panorama on the Valley and SJM. Pretty views of the Massif de Belledonne then a stretch of balcony road carved into the rock. Beautiful finish with a view of the mineral slopes of the Grand Coin.. a last ass kick in the finish and arrival at the Col du Chaussy at 1533m: rural scenery animated by a pretty chapel and a 4-star view of the Belledonne, the Aiguilles d'Arves and the chain of Lauziere
I finally had the opportunity for a brief "full immersion" in the legendary climbs around St. Jean de Maurienne, a true paradise for climbers! The first "taste" of this intense week was the Col de Chaussy, a "minor" col but no less demanding than its older brothers, given that the climb, which begins with the famous Montvernier "lacets", never lets up until the col and slopes reach and exceed double digits in several places. Beautiful panoramas of the legendary Vanoise mountains on one side and the Ecrens park on the other. The only flaw, the return with a headwind!
Revenge on the last time, I will end up enjoying going up to Saint François
