Today, 12 people from the Friday hiking group of the Fichtelgebirgsverein Wunsiedel went to Längenau near Selb to the varied "Bankerlweg" around the Wartberg. Unfortunately, we had plenty of water from above and below 🌧 💧☔️👢. We enjoyed our lunch break in the cozy parlor of the Zur grünen Au restaurant in the center of Längenau 🍺🥐🌭. On the way through the forest 🌲, the currently blooming seven-pointed star 🌱, the heraldic flower of the Fichtelgebirgsverein, particularly caught our eye (photo 4) 🌟. We elegantly flew over two dead spots with a drone 😅. Unfortunately, due to a lack of ground contact, the route data is missing here 🫣. 22 participants hiked this beautiful trail through forest and fields today. The hike was rewarded with magnificent views as far as Selb and the Czech Republic. Old border lines are visible, and boundary stones can be found. It's a cause for reflection, given current political developments. But the sunshine and glorious spring colors, as well as the delicious shashlik at the Voith Inn, quickly brought us back to cheerful thoughts. A highly recommended route. The Wartberg and Längenau are worthwhile destinations.
