The starting point of the tour through the north of Bremen is at the Bremen-Vegesack train station. Here you swing on the saddle and cycle to the Weser. Past the museum harbor you get to the beautiful promenade directly at the city garden. Then you briefly leave the bank and make an arc through Wätjens Park.

Back on the Weser, you can let your gaze wander over the water again and admire a number of shipyards. Finally, you cycle past the Valentin submarine bunker and a little later you drive a tight loop to make your way back.

This leads you through the wonderful Eispohl nature reserve, through idyllic Geestbach valleys, past Blomendal Castle and Schönebeck Castle, through quiet residential areas and the Knoops Park on the banks of the Lesum. Now you cycle downstream past the marina to the confluence of the Lesum and Weser rivers. From here it is not far to the Bremen-Vegesack train station, the starting point of the tour.

The protected area protects the remainder of a geest landscape that used to consist of extensive heathland and dunes and which stretched between Neuenkirchen, Schwanewede and Lüssum. The landscape was created by grazing, mostly with sheep. The heathland was also used for the blows.

Trail Reviews

July 10, 2022, Bremen Berg und Waltour

Rode a 🐳 whale today 🤔🤣. At least that's what it looks like with a little imagination. The whale fin and an oversized whale jaw can be seen on the tour. That's why Waltour. Great tour, nice to drive because almost always solid ground and the most beautiful side roads in Bremen North. From beautiful landscapes to beautiful gardens and large villas right on the water, you can get up close and personal here. There are also several options for stopping off. A very clear recommendation for descendants. Stay alert 😉
