Hiking

This hike awaits you with fantastic views of the Lechtal Alps and insights into the hard, traditional life of mountain farmers. The ten-kilometer hike is family-friendly, but should still be walked with sturdy shoes and appropriate hiking clothing.

The starting point is the mountain station of the Jöchelspitzbahn. Ambitious hikers can of course conquer the ascent of 500 meters in altitude over just under four kilometers from the valley on their own. You hike across lush mountain meadows and along the botanical nature trail to the Lachenkopf, where you can learn all kinds of interesting things about the flora of the Alps. There is no moment in which you do not want to stop to enjoy the beautiful view of the valley. With a little luck you can also watch the paragliders who like to start here on and around the Sonnalm.

Close to the Lachenkopf you pass the Bergheu Museum. In the rustic, small hut you will find an exhibition on the work and way of life of the Lechtal mountain farmers. After a short break, continue on the Alpenrosensteig in the direction of Bernhardseck. You keep the beautiful mountains in view the whole time - be careful not to stumble with the breathtaking view!

You can stop off at Berggasthof Bernhardseck and strengthen yourself for the last descent into the valley. From there the path then leads steeply downhill and back to the valley station of the Jöchelspitzbahn.

Lachenkopf Summit

Highlight • Summit

The Lachenkopf can also be visited relatively easily from the mountain station. The ascent here is much easier than to the Jöchelspitze, but the view is really good. There is a bench and you can see the valley unhindered.

Lechtal Mountain Hay Museum

Highlight • Monument

In the rustic mountain hay museum between the mountain station of the Jöchelspitzbahn and the Jöchelspitze you can take with you a lot of interesting information about the traditional work of the Lechtal mountain farmers. With the help of the traditional tools and a picture exhibition, you will get an insight into their hard everyday work. The small hut with the wonderful panoramic view of the surrounding mountains is therefore ideal for a short break.

Firmly up (short piece) to descend even more sharply afterwards. Beautiful little paths, wonderful views and the detour to the hut is worth it.

Today was supposed to be sunny and warm again.
So we used the Aktiv Card again and took the Jöchelspitzbahn cable car to the mountain station. A group of people preparing for tandem flights followed us not far from the mountain station. From further up, we could watch the takeoff.
It always looks funny when a tangle of four legs …

The descent from Bernhardseck to Bach is not recommended for inexperienced hikers, especially not without trekking poles and after it has rained for days. Otherwise great tour 👍🏻

There was a lot of sun 🌞 today, just as many views 👀. The descent was mainly via S4/S5 paths. All I can say is "keep your eyes open when planning" 😀.

Recommendation from the Seesumpfkapelle above to the Jöchelspitzbahn valley station and then the Lech hiking trail down to Stockach
