Since I don't always want to publish the same tours, it was quiet here for a while. Today we went to Blaubeuren, we wanted to circle the town at the Blautopf on a route that we hadn't done before. We started at the train station. The parking lot here was almost full early in the morning. Across the main road and up towards Brillenhöhle to the rock labyrinth with the kissing pig. Once we reached the Alb plateau, we made a short detour to the Günzelburg ruins. This is more of a viewing rock than a ruin. On the way down, we briefly made room for three bikers in the last hairpin bends (I should go here on my bike sometime, there are really many interesting descents here). There was of course a lot going on at the Blautopf, but I still managed to take a few photos without crowds. It's beautiful there despite the large construction site. Our next destination was the Blaufels. Here the 'summit' is almost too small for the many hikers today. Between Blaufels and Knoblauchfelsen we were almost alone. Shortly before the Knoblauchfelsen we were actually able to take a short snack break on a bench that was not already occupied. From the Hohengerhausen ruins, better known as Rusenschloss, you have a wonderful view of the Ach and Blautal valleys. We soon reach the Blautal valley past the Kleine Grotto, walk for a few minutes along the railway embankment and then make the final climb up the Rucken, which is practically in the middle of the Blautopf town. Here again we get envious glances at mountain bikers who are riding down the rather challenging path towards the cemetery. The train station is just under 10 minutes away.
The Blaubeurer Felsenstieg is one of my top 10 favorite hikes. Made it for the third time today but recorded it for the first time with Komoot. Despite the fact that a lot of it runs on beautiful shady forest paths, some of which have an alpine character 🥾🥾, it was quite humid today 🥵, but stayed dry from above, our clothes were only totally wet from the effort 🥵 😂. Unfortunately, the spectacle cave is barred, whether the way there is worth it, everyone has to decide for themselves 🤷🏼♀️. In Blaubeuren we treated ourselves to an ice cream 🍦 to cool down. As expected, there was a lot going on at the Blautopf, despite being during the week. During our tour we only occasionally met a few other hikers 😊. But I assume that it will look different at the weekend 🙂!
Today was a dream hike in glorious weather. Beautiful trails, magnificent views, the Blautopf, beautiful rocks, and the old town of Blaubeuren. I've rarely done such a diverse hike.
Huhu 🙋♂️🙋on the road again today with @Annett ☺️and because it was so beautiful yesterday, I walked an ice age path right away 😁Annett, thank you very much for being there 😘 It started from 🚉Blaubeuren to the spectacle cave, kissing sow 💋 and Günzelburg castle ruins 🏰 then he went to Blaubeuren to the Blautopf 💦 always sooo nice there 🤩 we took our break on a bench 😋 always had the Blautopf in view 👀 and before it nuff again went 👆 we strengthened ourselves with an ice cream sundae 🍧 (whether that was a good idea 😂😂) A bit clumsy 🤭 we continued our hike and of course it went nuff again 👆 past the Glasfels 🪨 and Blaufels 🪨 a great hiking trail led us to a barbecue area, where we then did sports 🤣🤣 short detour to the Knoblauchfelsen and then we came to the Rusenschloss 🏰 stopped at the small grotto and we were down again 👇👏on the Hessensteg we went over the Blau 💦 and hey presto we were at the train station 🚉 we met a handful of hikers ☺️and it wasn't overcrowded at the Blautopf either 😉 Have a nice evening 🙋 ♂️🙋🙋 ♀️
The start begins with a detour to the beautiful Blautopf. This is where the blue comes from. The path is consistently marked with a yellow circle and repeatedly with the signs "Blaubeurer Felsensteig". At the corner of Blautopfstrasse and Klosterstrasse, stairs lead up to the Blaufels. On the hiking trail there are always wonderful views of the valley basin. Past Sonderbuch you come to the war memorial and finally to the ruins of the former hilltop castle Rusenschloss. After the descent, a bridge leads over the Blau. The path continues in the direction of the train station. Caution: here at the tunnel, cross the traffic lights diagonally to the right (we made the wrong "turn" here at first). Then follow the usual signs uphill. It goes to the spectacle cave, to the kissing sow (a great rock formation) and an impressive rock labyrinth. The remains of the Günzelburg form the conclusion with another, wonderful view. From there it goes steadily downhill, back to Blaubeuren, back to the starting point.
Recently seen at @Ömchen & Öpchen 🍀 thank you for that 😘 and did it again after 3 years with some new ways. The small grotto is 🤩 and of course the phenomenal blue of the Blautopf 👍🏻 Just a great corner and hardly any people during the week 👍🏻☺️🙋 ♀️🙋🏼
Nice tour with different views of Blaubeuren. The blue pot is an absolute must 👍. Incredible play of colors.
@Today a quick trip to Blaubeuren before the Blautopf and surrounding area are no longer accessible for four years due to renovation work.
