Viewpoint of Colle Santa Lucia

Highlight • Viewpoint

Great vantage point! In order to really enjoy the panorama, you should take a break here. The artwork, a rusty tree sculpture towering over the abyss, isn't to everyone's taste. Anyway, I like her.

Giau Pass

Highlight • Mountain Pass

Passo Giau is a wonderful starting point for a pleasant walk. It is one of the most famous mountain passes in the Dolomites. It has ample parking, the opportunity to enjoy something to eat and a beautiful view of the mountains. A visit to the Dolomites is not complete without going through Passo Giau.

Forte Tre Sassi

Highlight • Historical Site

The Austrian fortress Intra i Sas or lock Valparola was built in the years 1897-1900, the facility, like most from this construction period, was already outdated at the beginning of the war and could not have withstood a direct attack.

The Italians saw things differently, however, and in 1915 the factory was bombarded by heavy artillery from a safe distance and reduced to rubble (the breech was only considered shell-proof up to a caliber of 21 cm). Although the armament, consisting of two 8 cm M 98 cannons, two 6 cm M 98 cannons and four machine guns, had already been removed in good time, the remaining crew was left behind. They resorted to a deceptive maneuver to distract the Italians from the new fortifications on the Hexenstein: they left the lights on at night to pretend to be busy; this confused the Italians so much that they believed until the very end that the plant was still fully operational.

This stratagem was also used successfully in the La Corte lockdown.

In the meantime, rehabilitation measures have been carried out and a museum has been set up in the factory, which can be easily reached from the road on the Valparola Pass.

New Video 👉 Maratona dles Dolomites 2021 [MDD#34] - Vlog #4, Inside The Race https://youtu.be/-piRc7A3wV8

What a crazy event!! More than 9.000 people riding together in the heart of Dolomites. It was crazy to see riders all the time, some of them passed me and I passed some too but you could see riders all the time. The scenery in every km of the race is astonishing, when I rode up I could enjoy and even take a couple of pictures because but on the downhills I went full gas and the only thing I could focus on was the road and the turns. The roads are closed during the race which is one of the best things, you don't have to worry for anything but riding, not a car passing you nor a car coming up the road, plus, you can go superfast on the donwhills using all the road, it was so much fun!! I have also to admit it was the hardest race with more than 4.000 climbing metres, but I took it chill, had some gels and could manage to finish it 5h and 38minutes, which I am really happy about. Its great how cycling can move this amount of people, people of all ages and levels and have a wonderful day of riding all together.  Super grateful to spend a couple of days in the Dolomites with the Pinarello Team 🙌

Definitely the best event I have ever took part! 😍 Great roads, tough climbs, tip top organization surrounded by the amazing Dolomites ⛰️

With @Marc Böhret, @Kajetan, @Hendrik Deyke and Julian. Unfortunately, I "lost" all four right at the beginning and I think my colleagues had one or two more espressos than I did 🙃 All in all, a successful day with great luck with the weather and a unique backdrop that you can only really enjoy by bike . Place 174 AK, place 1076 overall. Started from the last starting block and therefore lost a lot of time on the Sellaronda, but that was of secondary importance on this beautiful day.

Now dear Formolo, ignorant and loser, here is my surprise, this I was waiting for, stay mute, appreciate and bow, I had to take pictures of you on the street as I progressed in my Performance because I have no time to waste with a gnat that I don't he understands cycling, having said that I apologize to all cycling lovers for these words referring to a person who only knows how to offend people instead of pedaling! run formolino, do not chat !!!!!!!!!!!
