Dickschied Wildwechsel (Wildlife Route)

With a rain probability of 60-90% today, I prepared myself for a quiet day, extremely couching and maybe something in the garden during the rain breaks was the plan. But I didn't expect my sweetheart. She said the weather would be better in the Wisper Valley. So off to the car, drove through an extremely thick fog soup to Dickschied and then did the Wisper Trail Dickschieder Wildwechsel. There was nothing to be seen of the promised wild animals. But in such weather you don't even send cuddly toys outside the door 😉 At the parking lot of the village community center it started in thick fog and the weather was very varied. From ground fog to high fog and from drizzle to light rain, there was something for everyone. 😯

The 9th Wispertrail - today it was the turn of the Dickschieder deer crossing. This morning I first looked at the weather forecast - the rain and fog in Dickschied should be manageable. On arrival we drove through thick fog fields and at the parking lot at the village community center we asked ourselves whether we were actually crazy - does a reasonably normal person go hiking in this weather? But it actually stopped raining after a few minutes - well, started again easily twice, but it was ok so far. We walked the optimally signposted tour as suggested. The wonderful views were missing today, of course, due to the weather, there were some beautiful passages, but of course very muddy in the weather. The tour is certified with 63 adventure points and I can also recommend it - but not in the November fog. What a tour! Perfect weather, animal sightings like in the zoo, views like in the Alps and paths that meander over the mountain ridges. An absolutely recommendable tour. 🥾🏞🌞😎

In the winter wonderland with great weather 🌞❄️🌞❄️🌞 we walked with @Taunus Mo😎🚶‍♀️🚵‍♂️ on almost untouched paths through the snow, hardly saw a soul along the way and were able to enjoy great viewpoints. The untouched glittering world of snow was breathtaking - the photos speak for themselves. Last fall, @Taunus Mo😎🚶‍♀️🚵‍♂️ dug up in the depths of the internet that a wooden hut in the style of a mountain pasture had opened on the Atzmann. 🤩 It was immediately decided: we have to go there! Ideal to combine with the Wispertrail “Dickschieder Wildwechsel”. 😁 Conclusion: Dream tour on great paths in the best weather and company with a nice nightcap in the Atzmannhütte. The last two climbs in the snow really challenged us again and we were more than able to complete the 14km because of the deep snow. We can walk the route again at any time. 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

For this tour you shouldn't be afraid of steep ascents and descents, one section is particularly challenging. There was nothing to be seen far and wide of the eponymous game crossing (you don't necessarily need to cross wild boars either). The only animals were those in the falcon yard. The reported sunshine lasted only an hour, after which the constant fog took over, so that unfortunately nothing or not much could be seen at the exposed vantage points such as Spitzlei or Dickschieder Fenster. The recommended direction of walking is clockwise, but we went "the wrong way" because we hadn't seen the start directly behind the sign at the parking lot. But it doesn't make a difference. For those for whom it can't be far enough, you can turn off at the twin banks towards the Galapagos Islands. However, there should be a point instead of a comma when specifying the distance, otherwise it would only be a good 10 km.

Wow...really really good...when I drove to Lorch to hike the Rheinsteig yesterday, I had to go through this really great area...So today I did one of those great Wisper trails.... Great paths, trails, ridge paths and beautiful meadow paths... Attention: crisp climbs 😫👌👍 Really recommended... Super nice hiking area...

Yesterday it took me back to the Wispertaunus. This time in the idyllically situated place Dickschied, approx. 420 m above sea level, you live here in almost untouched nature, surrounded by the forests of the Taunus, which fascinate in every season. The village is an excellent starting point for hikes through the woods, on the Wispertalsteig or the Rheinsteig. Heidenrod/Dickschied is one of the most densely wooded communities in Hesse, in a beautiful low mountain range landscape. With a fabulous panoramic view of the Taunus and the Hunsrück. For me it went on a tour of the Wisper Trails to the Dickschieder Wildwechsel. The slogan on the website promises: Where the deer in the Meet autumn for the rut! And really on the entire tour you can see the tracks of the changing game. The tour also has very crisp path sections that appear alpine. Have fun hiking!
