Great views and nice tour on the first afternoon. With a view of the Königssee, Steinerne Meer, the Watzmann, the clouds had cleared towards evening and the sleeping witch in the evening mood.
Tour with the Heimatfreunde Kirchehrenbach to the Gotzenalm After spending the night on the Gotzenalm, where the night's sleep was rudely broken by a wrongly set alarm clock shortly before 5 am, we went to the Feuerpalfen after breakfast. The view from this 1000m high cliff on the Königssee with St. Bartholomä and the Watzmann Group is fantastic. After a group photo we went on the forest road in the direction of the Königsbachalm. The last few kilometers before the alp we went off the forest road via a hiking trail. After a short break on the Alm, we went on a good hiking trail with some beautiful views down to Schönau am Königssee. Just a very nice hiking weekend.
You need good footwear "hiking boots", stamina and strength in the legs (it is often and for a long time, sometimes steeply uphill). For this you will be rewarded with a great view every now and then.
I've actually been planning to do this route for ages, this year it should finally be time with the first ship from Königssee, I drive to the required stop at Kessel (make sure to tell the captain that you want to get off there) and first hike up in serpentines through the forest to the Gotzentalalm. It's so nice because I hike out of the fog and then don't even get to see the lake under the cloud cover, but then I'm in the sun. Splendid! Then a steep (and somewhat "boring") path up to the Gotzenalm, with a great view and the opportunity to rest. I first go to the Feuer Pfaffen viewpoint and enjoy the view of the Königssee, which is now free. The way back is via the Königsbachalm on foot to the Königssee. Highly recommended!
The Kesselsteig itself is not spectacular, but the view of the Watzmannstock is very nice. The ascent to the Gotzenalm seems long and steep, but the view there was worth it as well as the food and drink. Many eBikers are out there. My pure walking time 5 hours 46 minutes.
Start in the morning from the Hinterbrand car park, super exhausting, but very worthwhile. Kaiserschmarren😋, 🍺 and a great view of the Königsee and the Watzmann east face.
The first almost two hours and about 350 meters in altitude were unfortunately not recorded ...
What an incredibly beautiful hike, I was absolutely thrilled. The view was breathtaking, actually, I can only rave about it. The rest at the alpine pasture, far away from everyday life and the hustle and bustle, was simply indescribably beautiful. And always when things are at their best, we head home again. Have a lovely evening.
