Ice Age Valleys Cycle Path

The Ice Age Valleys Cycle Route leads right through the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Caves and Ice Age Art of the Swabian Jura". It meanders through the untouched nature and picturesque landscapes of the Ach and Lone valleys. Here you can discover ancient caves where Ice Age people once created important works of art from mammoth ivory.

The 75 km long Ice Age Valleys Cycle Path leads from Schelklingen to Niederstotzingen. Both places are connected to the public railway network. Along the way you have many opportunities to make exciting stops, such as in the Achal. Here you can explore the sites of Hohle Fels, Sirgenstein and Geißklösterle. You can see the original, globally unique finds from the caves in the Prehistoric Museum in Blaubeuren and in the Museum in Ulm.

Finally, in the beautiful Lone Valley, the Bockstein, Hohlenstein-Stadel and Archaeopark Vogelherd sites await you, where you can immerse yourself in everyday life in the Stone Age on various themed sites and experience the world heritage up close.
