The Hiwweltour Neuborn is with a length of eight kilometers a nice walk for leisurely hikers. The hike takes you over the rolling hills between Wörrstadt and Rommersheim and offers you again and again beautiful views of the vast landscape of Rheinhessen. Worthwhile is also a trip to the center…

A nice short tour for the day after when you need to "recover" a bit. Plenty of rest stops and information boards. The town of Rommersheim is worth seeing.
After I had the Hiwweltour Zornheimer Berg behind me, I added the Hiwweltour Neuborn in Wörrstadt (10...15 minutes by car from Zornheim). This tour also has almost everything a hiker's heart desires. The only thing missing was a nice place to stop.... 😂😆
This morning, ground fog rolled through the valley. It was a good thing we walked clockwise. This meant we started out on the panoramic trail above the fog, still in the sun, and then walked mystically through wisps of fog and diffused sunlight. It was interesting to see how the Burgundy Tower gradually disappeared into the mist. Had we chosen that direction, we too would have been swallowed up by the fog, and the view would have been lost. So, it was the right decision. From Rommersheim onwards, the fog lifted, the sun broke through, and we had wonderful views in all directions for the rest of the hike.
Very nice entertaining and also short Hiwweltour (8km), through the beautiful Rhoihesse🥰! You start at the sports field or 200m further on at the hiking car park. This tour can certainly also be done in winter in sunny weather, as most of the time it is open with a great view.
Hiwweltour Neuborn - one of the certified circular hiking trails in Rheinhessen: varied, with many great views and well signposted. The large parking lot at the sports field in Neuborn near Wörrstadt is recommended as a starting point.
8.9 km *** 190 m up / down 4:20 h incl. / 3:13 h excl. breaks Hikers 58 + 61 + 81 The KM information includes the access path from the sports field car park and smaller detours such as the Burgunderturm, which is a little off the route. The actual Hiwweltour from / to the Neuborn grill hut is approx. 8.1 km long. Short, undulating and very well-marked circular tour. The route is mostly on forest and meadow paths, sometimes wide, sometimes path-like, but also a little on asphalt. First through one of the small, actually still existing forests in Rheinhessen past the Neubornquelle, out of the forest and via the Jubiläumswald (don't let the word forest confuse you here) to the Rommersheim Atonement Cross. On the way, you always have the Burgundy Tower in front of you, either in front of you or to the right, which we will reach in the last quarter of the tour. From the atonement cross and the rest area there, it goes down a bit, then along the slope to another rest area, down to Rommersheim and through it and then past allotments up to and up to the Greifenberg. The final climb after crossing a wide path is initially in the bushes on a narrow path that can become very slippery when wet. Hikers coming towards us and thus descending had greater problems here. This section is about 100 to 150 meters long, then it goes up the slope on a wide meadow path. Once you reach the top, there is a rest stop with beautiful panoramic views (but unfortunately also some wind turbines to the east). Slightly downhill, then uphill again past the beautiful view towards the Burgundy Tower, which you then reach after about 100 meters on a side path. Back to the Hiwweltour, we now head straight towards Wörrstadt, then along the road on the edge of town and finally through some “wilderness” to the grill hut and a little further back to the car park. Rest: There are more than enough rest stops along the way. Getting there: Car ==> Autobahn A63 (Mainz - Kaiserslautern), Wörrstadt exit, towards Wörrstadt, stay on the B420 until it makes a sharp turn to the right. Continue straight on towards Ensheim, shortly afterwards turn right to the car park at the sports field. You can also continue along the gravel road to the grill hut and park there, then you start directly at the Hiwweltour. Public transport ==> currently bus 443 from Wörrstadt train station or Alzey train station, Rommersheim stop, Hauptstraße. This is currently the only way to get to the Hiwweltour directly by public transport.
Hiwweltour Neuborn 🤔 ... yes, you can also pass the rather hidden spring ... But the round should rather be called Hiwweltour Burgunderturm or Tour of the Far Views - these are the lasting impressions after the tour! And of course you shouldn't forget the beautiful and picturesque Rommersheim - the fulcrum of the tour, so to speak! All together a very nice round in any case! 👌🙂 Quite a bit steeper and more unpaved at one point or another, also with light trail sections, but overall very relaxed to walk - and well signposted 👍 Of course also with nice rest areas and refreshment stops (in Rommersheim and Wörrstadt, here is directly on the route and very idyllic e.g. the Waldgasthof Neuborn) A good starting point is the hiking car park Neuborn 1 in Wörrstadt - alternatively you can also start it from the Wörrstadt train station, then it will be a good 12 km. Have a nice evening!
Today with daughter 2 and dog Emma on Hiwweltour. 😍👍 We clearly had the wrong drink with us with our water bottles. 😅 That's what happens to ignorant newbies. 🤷♀️ At least I didn't know. 🙈 We still had a lot of fun. 😊
