Today we went on a beautiful hike around Lake Bütgenbach with @UlRa. 🤩 We were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful nature and delicious food. It was a perfect day for hiking. 🌞☕🍰🥗🥩🍻 P.S. Komoot had a few glitches again today. It was interrupted once, and some of the pictures aren't where they should be. 🤷🏼♂️
After a leisurely coffee in the hotel, we actually only wanted to take a few more steps by the lake, maybe until the evening sun shone so beautifully on the way. This time, however, we managed a lot more distance than planned and lapped it, very fast for our standards! the Bütgenbacher See. It is a dam built in the 30's of the previous century. Used to generate energy and is therefore accessible for leisure, swimming and water sports. Mostly non-commercial, especially where we enjoy the late sun hiking tonight. Bathers along the way, Merlin also had the opportunity to splash around every now and then. Beach mood. Very impressive: a lady who was out in the lake with her rescue dogs. Later, the last two loops should not be underestimated, they probably make up at least a third of the way, but lead through more wooded area: A lot of meadowsweet grows at the tributaries of the Warche and Holzwarche. And the mushroom season is starting so slowly. My friend discovers a birch red cap. Close by, right on the edge of the path, is a very beautiful, seemingly unreal green cap mushroom. And along the whole route you can see somewhat older signs with the note: "Around the lake - 10 km ". Motivation is different! Nevertheless, the tour runs away quickly. Highly recommended.
Walked around Lake Bütgenbach in beautiful weather. Lovely little paths with lots of views of the lake, little bays to relax in and a very idyllic stretch over wooden footbridges.
Ideal on a gray day. A little snow and a beautiful lake. Lake Bütgenbach is a Belgian reservoir on the River Warche. The lake is located on the territory of the municipality of Bütgenbach and covers an area of 120 hectares. The dam was constructed from 1929 to 1932 and has a height of 23 m.
Thank you very much Karin for the beautiful inspiration 😉
A lot of water sports are practiced on the reservoir near Büttgenbach. Boy scouts are also out and about here a lot. The tour around the lake is varied and always offers different views of the water. The water felt surprisingly warm (mid-July) and is suitable for bathing. The dam wall is accessible and quite impressive.
