This varied hike brings you from Eppingen on good 13 kilometers to the neighboring Sulzfeld. Right at the beginning you walk through the beautiful old town of Eppingens with its pretty half-timbered houses, cozy cafes and narrow streets.
You wander out of the village and reach the Jägersee after just under five kilometers. The perfect place for a first break. Continue on forest trails relaxed uphill. Again and again you have great views of the wide landscape of the Kraichgau. About half way you come to a lookout with a table over. Here you have reached the highest point of the tour and can take a break as a reward and taste your food.
Not far, then you can see the houses of Mühlbach. On a hot summer's day, a short detour to Mühlbacher See, a family-friendly bathing lake with children's playground and managed kiosk, is worthwhile.
The path leads you further through the vineyards and soon you can see the Ravensburg in the distance. In the castle you will find a beautiful castle garden and a cozy restaurant (closed on Mondays and Tuesdays). From the tower of the castle you have a fantastic panoramic view of the hilly landscape of the Kraichgau.
From the castle it is only two kilometers to the train station in Sulzfeld. By train, you will be back in 15 minutes to Eppingen. Just hop in the S4 direction Heilbronn.
