Hiking
On the circular trail of 2.3 kilometers, small and large hikers are given information about the local habitat forest, field, field and water with display boards. Romping around, climbing and playing is expressly permitted.
In 1970, Bavaria's first ornithology trail was opened in Aschach. In addition to providing information about the native birds, sick and injured birds were also taken care of in the aviaries. There is nothing left of the aviaries today. Over time, a nature trail has evolved from what was once an ornithology trail. Today, only the approx. 100 nesting boxes hung up in the trees by the local history and hiking club Aschach and the information boxes on the local bird species set up along the way are reminiscent of the ornithological path. Native bird species such as blackbirds, chaffinches and great spotted woodpeckers have made themselves comfortable in around 90 percent of the nesting boxes.
A special highlight are the three new panorama loungers. These could become the new favorite spot of many visitors, because the view over the Saale valley in connection with a private concert of melodies tweeted definitely invites you to linger.
