Weser-Radweg Round Tour: Hoya-Verden

Discover part of the Weser Cycle Route as a circular route on the main and alternative routes!
On this circular tour of the Weser Cycle Route, you will cycle from Hoya to Verden and back again, always following the signs for the Weser Cycle Route. In the Dörverden area, you have the option of doing a shorter circuit over the weir (note opening times). The start is in the old town of Hoya with St. Martin's Church and the Count's Castle. From here, the route leads past idyllic pools, through the community of Hilgermissen to Wienbergen. If you like, you can take a detour to the barrage with hydroelectric power station in Dörverden. Then it continues through the small towns of Oiste, Blender with the Blender Lake (part of the old Weser bed) and Varste. In Hutbergen, you cross the Weser and then have a beautiful view of the equestrian town of Verden. Those interested can continue their journey into the city and visit the horse museum, the historical museum in the Domherrenhaus or the cathedral. Now it's on to Dörverden. The weir and the wolf center in Barme are worth seeing. Heading south, you cycle past Hassel and arrive back in Hoya. If you haven't seen enough yet, it's worth taking a short detour to the village of Bücken, three kilometers away, with the double-towered collegiate church of St. Matemiani et St. Nicolai.
